Up for auction is a vintage 14k Lambda Iota Sigma fraternity key/charm. It is in very good to excellent condition and there isn't anything wrong with it. The charm weighs 3.93 grams and is not marked. But acid tests as 14k gold. I did not test the jump ring. It measures 1 1/8" by 5/8" and is engraved P. G. J. 178. There are no maker's hallmarks. Lambda Iota Sigma is an honorary professional society that was founded in 1927. So I am guessing that 178 refers to the member number, which would make it a fairly early key charm. Presented for the collector of vintage sorority and fraternity pins is this superb specimen of the Phi Mu badge dating from 1952. The pin is of standard size and measures 5/8 inch by 1/2 inch. Although not marked as such. The pin tests 10K-14K gold. I think this one is closer to 14K. The enamel of the central device is in perfect condition. This pin features 24 seed pearls and 4 emeralds that surround the central device. All are present and vibrant of color.
