This is a rare shakuhachi made by the legendary Kikusui Kofu(1907-1974) It is a very old instrument. Stamped twice by the maker. It is made out of wood, very skillfully carved as to resemble the nodes and root end of a real bamboo. It is in great condition and it doesn't show any signs of wear.It is a very light instrument to hold, having a different feeling to hold and to play, comparing with modern shakuhachi. It is tuned to A=442Hz(D pitch) I think it would fit better an intermediate player who can appreciate it's historic quality, rather than a beginner who may find some difficulties in controlling it.
