We purchased this printer used about 5 years ago. And it came in a box with some shipping damage that we pictured. The casing cracked/chipped in a couple places. The printing functions work well, black and white and all colors print properly and clearly. The partially used ink cartridges and partially used roll of paper are included. There is a problem with the paper feed. After a print job, the paper is sliced off, and then the fresh paper often pops out of the rollers, so that someone has to feed it back in manually to get ready for the next print job. This'nursing' is time consuming so our office purchased a new printer. For occasional large format printing this printer may be acceptable as long as someone is ok babysitting the paper feed, but it is time consuming for a multi-user environment or someone that does not want to tinker ... morewith paper feeding. It's a very solid and heavy printer. It comes with a fully functional HP Jetdirect network card installed in the back of the printer. We used it without issue on our network. Used HP Designjet 815MFP plotter. Includes the 42" scanner and plotter. Works great. We just spent over $600 to replace all of the belts and have the plotter serviced. No damage other than usual wear. Getting rid of it because we recently replaced it with another plotter. The plotter is able to hold a single roll. Up to 42" wide and 150 feet long. The 42" scanner also works well. The fan inside the computer that controls the scanner went bad, so you can't leave the computer on for extended periods of time. We recently replaced the hard drive in the plotter because the original went bad. We have 2 extra roll spindles for convenience in switching rolls/sizes. This is a great machine. OEM seals harden and crack over time. Allowing ink out and air in. If your Designjet is having frequent print head errors or you see ink leaking under the ink supply station, this is most likely the part that is failing. If you have had to replace either the printhead cover or the ink delivery system because either the plastic tab on the cover or the catch on the IDS support broke. Allow 2 hours REMOVE POWER CABLE Remove 8 small screws holding down middle cover/ lit Detatch ink supply cable from the inside top cover Remove cover Remove cartridges Remove screw under the lid of right cover Looking underneath the printer- Press tab holding the right cover in place at front and pull up Repeat for side tab Repeat for rear tab(might help to remove the roller bracket or roller bracket cover) Remove cover Remove the 2 screws on top of electronic module holding the connector cover in place Disconnect all the connectors Unscrew the 4 screws holding the EM and PSU in place Slide both towards the back. They should now be free Depress the 2 winged tabs holding the power connector into metal frame and pull the connector forward Pull the connector up and out of the metal bracket This is the easy bit over. Reverse all the steps above. Helpful tips Use a bit of tape to secure the cables running under the EM in place.
