VINTAGE 1930'S 40'S PINK RAYON CREPE BIAS CUT LONG ROBE DRESSING GOWN
This is a vintage 1930's or 40's light pink long bias cut robe or dressing gown with lace trim. It is not tagged. I think the material is like a rayon crepe. It has an attached long tie and closes at the waist with 3 snaps. The measurements are 26" from sleeve end to sleeve end as it has no separate sleeve seams. 20" flat under the arms, a 25" waist but the snaps could make it a little larger to maybe 29" and is 58" long but it has been hemmed up about 1 1/2" and the hem circumference is about 135" The sleeve opening is about 14" Condition is very good but there is a small spot on the left lower front side as seen in the 6th photo, 2 small spots on the back right side bottom, a few tiny spots at the right side near the bottom as seen in the last photo. Again it was hemmed but can be let down ... moreand on the front left side the hem is coming down and there is a small 1/2" right side seam below the waist than needs re-sewing. Many beautiful cut and polished geodes had to be left behind.Older couple passed away.Kids selling house were from out of state. Left all furniture,household items,and the ROCKS! Up for auction is a beautiful silk charmeuse peach nightgown from the 1940's. It has wonderful old Hollywood glamour style trademarks. The gown is form fitting and flares out slightly at the hem. The heavy silk charmeuse feels fabulous and moves and reflects like light so it shimmers. It's gown to look fabulous in and have all the glamour of a 1940's movie star. The bodice has beautiful floral lace that is ivory and taupe. It's apprx. 2 1/4" 3" high at the top of the bodice. There is apprx. 1" high piece. Cut to follow the pattern, below. In between the lace is a panel of sheer peach fabric. Heavily gathered. The shoulder straps are 2 3/4" wide with a darling bow detail by the lace.
