This is a lovely lot of 19 quilt blocks plus 60 cut pieces in the fan pattern in vibrant colors. All machine stitched. Each block is nice and flat. All of the pieces fabrics from the Depression era of the 20's 30's and 40's. Feed or flour sacks with novelty prints and children's prints. Each piece has 5 pieces or blades The blades measure 7 inches long, 2 3/4 inches wide at the widest part and 1 1/4 inches at the smallest part. The blocks measure 11 inches at the widest point and 4 inches and the smallest part. I have shown pictures of all the blocks and have shown pictures from the back of 1 of the blocks and they are all the same and were all done by the same person. And these 3 weigh 10- lbs 8 oz. A few cuts are lighter skinned in coloration than others yet are still perfectly healthy. THE CORSET HAS SIDE PANELS MADE OF THE SAME BROCADE FABRIC AS THE FRONT PANEL. AND THE SIDE PANELS ARE FITTED WITH ELASTICIZED GUSSETS AT THE TOP AND BOTTOM, FOR FLEXIBILITY IN TERMS OF MOVEMENT AND FIT. THE DERRIERE PANEL IS ALSO MADE OF THE SAME SINGLE-PLY BROCADE. THE BACK PANEL IS THE LONGEST PANEL AND EXTENDS HIGHEST AT THE TOP, FOR SUPPORT AND CONTROL. ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BACK PANEL, OVER THE AREAS WHERE THE BONES ARE SEWN INSIDE, ARE TWO POCKETS FOR INSERTING METAL STAYS FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT, SHOULD YOU DESIRE TO USE THEM. AWESOME CUT ROCK PIECE Maybe for jewelry making ? cabbing,lapidary (U-40)
I recently purchased a house that was previously owned by serious rock hounds. Many beautiful cut and polished geodes had to be left behind.Older couple passed away.Kids selling house were from out of state. Left all furniture,household items,and the ROCKS! Many pieces of sliced rocks, geodes, and petrified wood also left behind. I don't know anything about this,but I am learning more everyday. To all those out in Ebay land that have helped identify things and offered some great ideas,THANK YOU! This cut rock measures 4"x 2" x about 2 3/4" at the thickest point. It is not varnished or polished. I have taken pictures dry and wet so you can see how it might look finished. Not a whole lot left of this piece but I am sure it can be used to make something great.
