Pipe Threading Basics with Ridgid for the do it yourselfer is becoming more common these days. As big box home stores rent almost every professional tool you can imagine. In the D-I-Y spirit, here is a step by step guide to using a Ridgid threader at home. Please note however that Ridgid makes differing models of threaders, so use your common sense. Additionally, never use common steel dies on stainless steel pipe. Step by Step 1. First place the desired length of pipe to thread into the pipe vise. Tighten. This keeps the pipe steady and secure. 2. You will now insert the conically-shaped pipe reamer into the end of the pipe about to be threaded. Turn the reamer in a clockwise direction. 3.Remember to remove“raised portions” keeping the interior wall smooth and clean. There should be no debris inside the pipe. 4. Remove the reamer. 5. lubricant to the end of the pipe in small amounts. Aiding the threader dies in cutting the metal for the pipe threads. 6. The manual threader should now be placed over the end part of the pipe. Turn the directional button to the arrow side of the threader. 7. Push against the end while turning the handle clockwise. As the thread dies engage the metal of the pipe. Squirt a bit of oil onto the pipe, then continue on the end of the pipe. 8. At this point you are continuing on in the cutting process until the die reaches the end of the pipe. 9. Once finished turn the directional arrow button to the opposite side and turn the manual threader counterclockwise. 10. Screw off the manual threader. 1940's vintage RIDGID Tristand TSY 2 1/2 for plumber blacksmith
Here is a vintage Ridgid Plumbers Tristand. It has a pipe vise. It is rusty but all moving and threaded parts still function! I did a little research on Ridgid brand tristands and found out that this model. The TSY 2 1/2 came out in 1940. It was replaced by Model 40 in the late 1940's. Also if you look at the fasteners, you see this piece uses square head nuts and bolts. It wasn't until 1949 that hex head nuts and bolt became the standardized hardware, thus effectively ending the use of square head hardware. So this is truly an antique piece, about seventy years old. A little elbow grease with a wire wheel/wire brush, some WD-40 and this thing will clean up nicely! Questions? Please ask! Check out my!

Additionally, never use common steel dies on stainless steel pipe. Step by Step 1. First place the desired length of pipe to thread into the pipe vise. Tighten. This keeps the pipe steady and secure. 2. You will now insert the conically-shaped pipe reamer into the end of ... morethe pipe about to be threaded. Here for your consideration is a Ridgid Tristand 1/8 to 2 1/2 pipe vise and jaws only. Other than a little paint loss this vise is in great condition with no cracks repairs or broken pieces. The vise mounting holes are 4 5/8 inches from center to center and the bottom jaw mounting holes are 1 3/8 inches center to center. Ridgid 1206 Tristand For 300 Pipe Threader Threading Threading Stand Refurbished
For sale is a Ridgid 1206 Tri-stand for a Ridgid 300 Threading Machine. This stand has been completely taken apart and sandblasted. The top plate is in great shape with new paint and only a few minor scratches underneath. The legs are in great shape as well. The bolts and hardware have been replaced(properly) All clips and bolts are new. The legs have been painted and a replacement leg holding cable has been installed. Ridgid recently changed there color to a darker grey and this one is more of the silver aluminum like the t2 and older machines. The whole unit works as it should. It supports the threader and has a sturdy stance and has a good set screw on the third leg. Please feel free to ask any questions. We do have another if you need multiples.

The Ridgid model 460-6 Tristand found in this listing's pictures is the actual piece you will receive when purchasing. I purchased this Ridgid 460 Tristand and used it very little. What little use it did get included my contractor gluing PVC pipe with it which stained it with PVC glue. I therefore removed the glue-stains as well as possible. Sanded down the top& legs of the Tristand and painted it. The sanding removed most scratches on the legs. However, scratch-indentations are visible if you look closely. Other than that. Extremely nice Ridgid 141 geared pipe threader. And accessories. The threader has seen very little use, and is like new. The dies are perfect with no chips or broked teeth. The threader operated easily and smoothly. Also included is the square drive adapter for use with a Ridgid 700 pony. It also is like new with the original set screws. The square head socket wrench is included to tighten the threader onto the pipe. A Ridgid heavy plastic oil bucket is included, and pumps oil well. The plastic buckets are nice because they will not rust. In addition I am including a Ridgid#460 Tristand vise, again in like new condition with a nice chain to clamp 1/8" to 6" pipe. The leg chain and hook are intact to make carrying the vise a breeze. To top it off is a very nice Greenlee 24" x 24" x 48" gang box to secure the equipment. ... moreI will be shipping all of this equipment in the locked gang box, and I will mail you the key. For sale is a Ridgid 460 Pipe vise. This tool is in great shape overall but does have its flaws. The top plate has a few marks on it and some paint as well. The chain folds perfectly but has slight surface rust on it. The stand has great legs and everything turns as it should. It is a little tough to fold the tool tray but it does work well. The chain to hold the legs is here and works correctly. Capacity- 1/8" to 6" Pipe INCLUDES a RUBBER coated AND a STEEL JAW!
