SDT 915 Ratchet-Driven Pipe Roll Groover works with Ridgid 300
You are considering a Portable Ratchet-Driven Roll Groover designed to be used with Ridgid 300 or similar drives. We believe this groover is a SDT model 915. But it does not have a nameplate or any other markings to identify it by. The only sticker on it is on the front and says PT Piping Tools. It looks identical to the other SDT 915's seen on e-bay. This groover does not appear to have been used much at all. There is very little visible wear on the grooving dies. The body has light scratches. Scuffs etc from use and handling. We do not have a Ridgid 300 powerdrive or similar machine to test this groover with. It is being sold"AS IS UNTESTED" The groover comes with two knurled drive shafts. The loose one is slightly smaller diameter than the one installed in the groover. The groover will require a 1/2" square drive ratchet ... morefor raising/ lowering the grooving roll. We did not receive a ratchet with this machine, but any 1/2" drive ratchet should work. We are not sure of the actual pipe capacity this groover will do. This sax was previously owned by Richard Elliot and used on tour for several years. Mechanical condition The keys all move freely All Screws can be easily removed No bent rods or screws All key corks are in excellent condition All pads are in like new condition and seal All springs are in excellent condition There is no lost key motion The is no key travel between posts Mechanically the sax is in Extremely Good condition. It plays form High F# to Low Bb smoothly and easily. It has been inspected by a factory technician and myself a NAPBIRT technician and we both agree it is in near perfect playing condition. Physical Condition The following damage has occurred to this sax and has been repaired. Post to High F# key was knocked off- it was resoldered however the heat from soldering did damage the finish in that area, Lower flange for the Larger ... moreBell Key Guard was knocked off- this has been resoldered and the area around has some finish damage, Bell rim was bent- this has been straightened, a brace around the low C# key fell off and was resoldered, No other damage has occurred to this sax to my knowledge. There are no dents in the sax at this time. Finish Condition This sax has a black nickel plated body. A silver plated neck, bell and bow and gold plated keys. The entire sax is plated. After the plating and assembly process the sax was then originally coated with a clear epoxy lacquer at the factory. Due to excessive road wear that epoxy lacquer is now deteriorating. This is what you see in the pictures as the spots all over the bow neck and bell. The body itself is 97% perfect in appearance except the small spots around the high F# key post and near the neck receiver. The Neck is about 80% perfect except for several small areas of lacquer wear. The bow and bell are about 60% perfect. The have numerous spots of wear varying in size from pin heads to several inches.
