Has some of the normal age and use related flaking, and from the old grinding process. The front of the jar is embossed with TRADE MARK LIGHTNING. The base of the jar is embossed with PUTNAM 250. The metal bale has the normal rust associated with the age of the jar. But to me looks solid. The lid is in good condition, I see no chips, and is embossed on the top of the lid with PATD APR 25 92- PATD JAN 5 75- RESD JUNE 5 77. I see no open bubbles on the outside of the jar. I see 1 shallow open bubble on the inside of jar, on the inside of the jar and just below where the lid rests on the, to me no issue, just mention for accuracy. Vintage "STERLING TRADE MARK RAISED PILLAR REEL" by Whittemore Co. Boston, Mass.
The only markings on this reel are the British pound symbol and the words"TRADE MARK" on the side plate and"150" stamped on the bottom of reel foot. After researching the reel. I learned that the maker was H.A. Whittemore Co. Boston, Mass. It is in good condition for it's age, with just some surface oxidation, mainly on the spool(see picture) It needs a good cleaning. Mechanically, it is also in good condition, with strong clicker. US bidders only please.

A very nice Gramophone& Typewriter LTD new#3 gramophone from 1904. All original. The ONLY reproduction part is the wood traveling arm. The case has original finish. Shellac 2/3 worn out, nice ivorine inlaid Recording Angel trade-mark of 1904 vintage. Nickel on the spring housing@98% intact. Nickel on support bracket about 20%intact, all rust removed. Hand crank original to the machine, three piece straight web, it was repaired@the join between the shaft and web, good repaired nickel. Turntable edge nickel left on some spots only, no rust. Original, very worn, but clean felt on the turntable. Please notice this is a motor that came WITHOUT threading on the spindle. Please see closeup of the motor. Motor cleaned and lubricated(using silicone so no messy spring lubricant) runs relatively smoothly(to this kind of a motor) one winding will ... moreplay a 10" record without a hiccup. Original, early(no"Made in USA" marking) Exhibition soundbox, freshly cleaned rebuilt with original mica and fresh gaskets and tuned. The leather elbow is original to the machine, a bit tatty, BUT all stitching intact, with the original tape on the seams inside. I used my own developed leather softener, that made it softer and less brittle, you be the judge how well it works. The bottle does have some small bubbles from the making and one small bubble in the back is broken open. Bottle is 11 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches across bottom. Bottle weighs 1 pound 6 ounces. This is about 3 1/2" tall and the base is about 2 1/4" across with the reflector being about 4 3/8" across. This is marked on the top with Butterfly Trademark and the bottom has" Safesport Mfg. Denver Colo USA" For it's age it is in nice condition with reflector and rubber sleeve. It looks like it is some kind of metal with a brass overlay but could be all brass, but not sure.
