Vintage Heddon Bamboo Fly Rod. Model Expert#125. This is an 8.5 ft. rod for a 6 weight line. The ferrule size is 2. There are 4 sections with the original bag and tube. This rod is used and it has had repair work resetting the ferrules. The male ferrule on the mid-section is a replacement and works well. The rest of the rod is original. The bamboo or cane is sound and it performs well and casts easily. The mid section is 1 inch shorter than the other three sections, two tips and the butt all equal. The reel seat is the patented Heddon Bakelite reelseat in good condition. The rod is fully marked with the traditional black ink on a flat of the butt section as shown in the pictures. This is an antique primitive wooden treen box to hold silverware or flatware. It has two sections separated by a divider with a handle. It is 12& 1/2" long by 9& 1/4" wide and stands about 4" at the top of the handle. It appears to be handmade with carving marks visible on the edges. It has a varnished finish. There are no chips or repairs. There is a split across the bottom and some old splits along one side from the corner to about 1/4 of the way toward the center. It is a nice old piece with lovely color.

This rod is in what I would call very good condition. There's some scuffs and wear on the cork handle mostly. You can judge by the photos. And it's a real bonus to get 2 extra tip sections. I believe the screw-cap tube is original, and there was probably a felt bag it came with which is not included. Little is known about the origin on this piece as there is no makers mark aside from the bottle's cork top that reads"Gallo" It is believed to be brass but I am not qualified to say with certainty. It passes the magnet test. And is tarnished in a way that consistent with brass. Some spots of the tarnish appear deeper into the metal than others. The tray measures 12" x 5" and has 4 claw-like brass feet attached. There are ample grooves along the inside that serve as pen rests. The ink bottle in the middle is removable and is made of a beautiful green glass. The cork lid fits inside a plastic cap and fits snug. The dark green glass is in very nice condition with no concerns.
