Vintage Better Packaging Tape Shooter 100A Wet Tape Dispenser-Needs Cleaning Etc Product Details: Vintage Better Packaging Tape Shooter 100A Wet Tape Dispenser You load gummed paper tape into the back and thread it through the machine. Fill the reservoir with water(see condition notes below) set the knob on the side to the length of tape you want, and pull the handle to dispense the tape. The tape is drawn over the wet brushes and the gum is wetted and activated for application to your box. There is a V-shaped cutter that comes down to slice the tape ... morewhere it stops. I see four issues with this dispenser. The brushes and cast water bowl that the brushes sit in are gummed up and look like they need cleaning. Revitalizing, or replacement(of the brushes) There is a place on the side for holding a water bottle. Which is missing. The V-shaped cutter feels dull and may need to be sharpened or replaced. But the stiff tape may not need a really sharp cutter, so I'm not sure about that. There are two vertical plates in the back which have tabs in the bottom that would have fit into a horizontal plate that is missing from the bottom. The purpose of the vertical plates is to adjust to hold various width tapes in place while unwinding. I suspect you can use the machine the way it is. If not. Then you will have to rig a plate or something similar to hold those vertical plates in place. Aside from that. I don't see any damage or other missing parts that would impede the use of the machine. I don't have any tape to test this machine with. It is cosmetically worn and marked up from previous use. Oxidation to the metal parts is minor and shouldn't affect the use of the machine. TAPE DISPENSER WET STORE PACKAGING TAPE DISPENSER This auction is for an antique packaging Tape Dispenser- the kind that was used in the old General Stores. The tape is the paper style that has to be wet on the glue side to make it stick. This dispenser is made of steel or cast iron so is VERY HEAVY. Finished in black porcelain with a design on each side. Dispenser has minor chips on the edges of the porcelain but hard to see with the black finish. Size: 10" long x 2 1/2" at the widest part x approx. 4 3/8" high. Uses tape that ... moreis 1 1/2" wide. Cannot see a manufacturer's name on this dispenser. Very unique and a rather rare or hard to find style of dispenser. To use this dispenser: Fill the well that the brush sits in with water so the bristles will be wet. Pull the tape through the guide. Over the bristles. This wets the glue side of the tape so it is ready to stick on whatever is being packaged.
