This is quite a tape dispenser I admit and a much sought out. Talked/blogged about, love it or hate it piece of Star Wars history. It is also in the Museum of the Moving Image in NYC. I have to say I felt a little awkward pulling out a piece of tape. It has a few tiny chips, a crazing crack, a rusty cutting edge and some discoloration where the tape rests. It is also missing the original piece that holds the roll of tape. A piece of dowel would work perfectly. I'm always happy to answer any questions and combine shipping. Thank you.

1933 EXPRESS 1 1/2 MOISTENER Wet Tape Dispenser. Art Deco by Better Packages ~ This is a great art deco piece that has a patent received date of 1933. Please notice the design of the feet made to look like automobile fenders. This item has some rust as would be expected for this items age and use. The decals with the brand are clear and the body of the dispenser is sound. The water reservoir is very rusty. And could be cleaned up should the purchasing collector decide to do so. The manufacturing company, Better Packages was in business at least through the early 1970s. This item was patent applied for in 1929 and it was granted to A. Keck on August 22, 1933. This is a vintage Scotch Tape dispensing device made of cast iron and steel in excellent condition. This tape dispenser was patented in 1940 and by J.A. Borden. As part of his patent. Borden claimed this dispenser kept the tape from un-rolling as the metal strip behind the cutter held the end of the cut tape secure. This dispenser was a favorite of surgeons for holding surgical tape during an operation. This dispenser is heavy at over 7 pounds as it's solid cast iron with a steel tape holder.
