These lamps were part of a large dispute and law suits between two rival manufacturers in the end the shanklin metal products name was covered with solder and then sold. It has been welded in a couple places so I can't read everything that is on it.On the top, it says_ Dropper, and has the following dates under that, Pat. 05-2-12, 5-26-14, 9-19-16, 11-2-20, 2-10-25, and 7-21-25. On the bottom of the lantern it says Manufactured by Shanklin. Mfg, Springfield, Il, USA. Although this lantern has obviously been used(it does have a few dents and has obviously been welded a couple of times) This is a very unique, OLD miner's lantern, 3 1/2 inches tall, 2 inches round.very, very cool. Mauchline Fernware Desk Blotter Photo 'Shanklin Chine' Victorian Treen
This is fine example of Mauchline Fernware. Applied to a large desk blotter or folder. The boards are each 12 x 9 inches. And are joined by a leather'spine' The rear board has a fine panel of fernware and raised studs at each corner to lift the board surface from the desk-top. The front board has a similar large fernware display. Arranged as a frame for a large oval photograph of'Shanklin Chine' I have never come across a similar fernware item. But Tunbridgeware pieces with photographs of Isle of Wight locations were sold by Stephen Wright and Son of Ventnor. The inside of the folder is faced with thin leather. But has no string inside the spine to hold blotting paper. Condition of this rare piece is very good with just a few minor marks and dents. Really something completely different.

BOX for 1 gross No.26 SHANKLIN CARBIDE LAMP REAMERS, MINING
Box for one gross No.26 Guy Dropper Reamers for miners carbide lamps. The box originally held 12 reamer cases with 12 reamers per case. There is only 1 case with 12 reamers in it left. The box is in ok shape for it age. I'd guess 40s or 50s. Some of the flaps just hanging on. 1 inside flap off and 1 missing. It is still a pretty cool item. See pictures. Good Luck. Steve

~ Open Flame Road Side Highway/Utility Torch ~ Old and weathered vintage road side torch. Made by Shanklin Mfg. in Springfield. Illinois in 1925. Known by its brand name"Storm King" It is a bomb shell type open flame torch. Weighted at the bottom. It is tip-proof and self-righting. Holds 3 quarts of fuel. Weighs about 5.5 lbs. It is 7" diameter and about 8" tall. It is rusted and has a couple small dents. Top still opens and there is an attached piece of wick present. Being sold as is. Low opening bid& no reserve!
