This is a well loved but VERY solid and lots of life left metal and wood solid multi component rack mount case. All the screws and clips for rack mounting your effects are present and in good shape. This sample is in great working condition. Both inside and out. I have given it a thorough cleaning and inspection and have test- sewed with it. It's ready for many more years of strong and reliable service. It includes a set of Singer brand presser feet. Five class-66 bobbins. A nice Singer foot control, and a CD containing a Singer owner's manual for the 201. As well as an adjusters manual. In addition to the manuals. There are over 120 megabytes worth of additional information about needles. Maintenance, sewing skills. And so on. I have tested the machine with many types of fabric and thread. And the tests are shown further down the page. The AC cord is also included of course. This machine is one of the finest Singer ever designed. It is a straight stitch machine. It features a fully rotary hook. And direct- drive integral gear ... moremotor. So that no motor belt is required. It is very smooth. And relatively quiet. The 201 was the first Singer home sewing machine to use a fully rotary hook. Most machines using this type of hook use a cleated timing belt. Which tends to produce a“clattering” sound. The 201 by comparison uses gears instead of the timing belt. It has a very nice“whirring” sound that lends it a feeling of smooth. Solid refinement. I tested with a variety of fabrics. I never had a rainfly for the pack. So during torrential rainy season downpours the contents would get a little wet. However. The pack did keep its contents very dust free while trekking through the desert. The actual pack is rather small for extended trips, but I probably could not carry anything bigger. I probably overloaded the pack several times. And during one 6 month backpacking trip I managed to fit in a 3 season. 2 person tent, a thermarest, a sleeping bag, a stove. Extra hiking boots, food, books, and enough clothing to last half a year. The mouth of the bag opens wide enough to pack everyhing in. And the bag handles heavy loads well.
