This is a plaque from the Chevrolet plant in Tonawanda NY. I do not know where it would have been attached or its purpose. It says Chevrolet Tonawanda First Iron Mold Line One June 1978 It is made of iron and has a lightly corroded surface that is unpainted. There is a piece of scrap/slag stuck to the plaque on the embossed engine. It measures 5" across and weighs 1 lb. 9 oz. This is a very neat and interesting Tioga and Elmira State Line Railroad Stop Over Check/ Pass for a trip between Elmira and Millerton that had to be used 2 days from the issue date of August 12. Normal passes for this railroad are very rare but these are even more scarce than the tickets. They just were not used that often! The pass is lightly soiled and has a very light bend in the lower right corner. But it is very light and definitely does NOT detract from this fantastic item! This artist rendition is of a dining room which we believe to have been on the Ile de France. We estimate the date of this to be around 1949 as it came with other Ile de France ephemera. We think that this may have been a menu cover from one of the dining rooms aboard the ship. Unfortunately this has been glued on a page which probably came from a scrapbook of travel. The piece is in good condition with no marks to the picture. The edges are worn. And there are minor bends to the back paper. This is a great vintage souvenir program from The Baltimore Packet Co. Old Bay Line. It is a true cross collectible in excellent condition. It holds interest for nautical transportation collectors. Horse racing collectors, WWII history buffs, Baltimorons, and graphic ephemora collectors. The Old Bay Line was an American steamship line that was in operation from 1840 to 1962. It was the last overnight passenger steamship in the US. This is a wonderful piece from its long history. Other ships in the Baltimore line were commissioned by the US Gov. for use during WWII, and a brief history of this is detailed on this program. It is a humorous piece in both the graphics and descriptions of the horses and crew members' names. The condition is excellent.
