Being offered for your consideration is an old. Old piece of Flow Blue Ironstone China, a RHODA GARDENS platter, manufactured by Hackwood in England, dating to the mid 1800's. The platter. Measuring 13.75" x 10.5" is octagonal in shape, with a recessed center. The pattern has an Oriental motif with Pagodas amid a Waterfront, and floral decorations in the surround. Platter also has a floral edging. There is a signature stamp on the bottomside of the platter: RHODA GARDENS encircled within a floral wreath. With an H underneath the wreath, signifying the manufacturer(Hackwood) True to the definition of Flow Blue. The pattern on the platter has a"smeared" design, as the cobalt blue coloring"flowed" from the design onto the white body. I would love to tell you that the platter is in excellent condition- It is ... morenot. This platter. Well over 150 years old, has three hairline cracks, heavy crazing, staining seen on the underside of plate, and a major flake chip on the top left. Please examine my pictures carefully, I have tried to hide nothing from you. Still, inspite of all its defects, this platter is an exceptional find; the opportunity to purchase these pieces are becoming increasingly rare. Based upon my research. Beautiful flow blow sauce bowl with cover and under plate. Asiatic Pheasant pattern by Adderley's of England. Under plate is 8.5" across. The bowl stands about 3.5" tall. No ladle. The under plate has some very faint crazing that we tried to show in photo#5. We were going to say there were no chips. But then we found a very tiny one on the edge of the bowl cover-as shown in photo#6.of course our camera makes it look like a canyon. In any event, we try to be very honest in our descriptions. Rare find! This listing features a very early Meissen Blue Onion Teapot. Hand made of pure white porcelain and all hand~decorated with the classic Meissen blue straw flowers. Berries and vines. Use the zoom feature to get close-ups! I would classify this piece as"primitive" Meissen. Dating back to the 19th century. Edges are rough(not chipped) and openings and lid are slightly misshapen(not perfectly round, as newer pieces are) This is a small individual teapot. Measuring 3 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" wide(from handle to spout) and the condition is very nice ~ clean and shiny with no chips, stains or crazing. There are a few sandbumps and flea bites, and as noted above, the spout rim, lid, and top edge of the teapot are rough and even look chipped, but all these flaws occurred during production and are completely glazed over. ... moreNote that the handle has a hairling crack in one spot(see photo) though it is a very fine crack and the handle has not broken off or been repaired. Up for auction is this wonderful Flow Blue Normandy Pattern by Johnson Brothers Oval Platter measuring 10 1/4" by 7 3/4" in diameter and sits 1" tall. It is very nice vintage condition with no chips cracks or crazing noted. There are a few areas on the back that appear to be manufacture flaws and are not chips or cracks they appear as rough areas. There is one small dark line on one edge that could be a hairline crack but I am not certain. I have included a photo of all flaws. There are some utensil scratches noted and some minor loss of the gold trim. Offered is this lovely and unusual Flow Blue porcelain china soup bowl or soup plate made in Germany by KPM. The center of the gently scalloped bowl is decorated with purple flowers that resemble a cluster of wisteria blossoms. The rim of the bowl is cobalt blue. Fading to lighter blue, then to white. Gold trim outlines the rim of the bowl and highlights the four column-like designs that extend outward from the center to the rim. Dividing the bowl into quarters. Vintage Flow blue Pelew Pattern covered sugar handled jar
This is a very vintage Covered sugar handled jar with lid in the Pelew pattern. Deep dark blue and so beautiful. With the lid the jar is 7" 3/4 in. high. The jar itself is 5" 3/8 in. high. The lid has the top knob glued back on. It was broken, as shown in photo#7. Also a chip on the very tip. I took as many photos as I could to show the detail. The base has an encised number 8 and a number 3 in dark blue underglaze. The base is 4" 3/8 in. in diameter. No other cracks but a small tiny edge where there is a piece of the glaze missing, as shown, in photo#8. at the top edge and a tiny one next to the left edge. This is probably mid 1880's.

Mid 1800's or earlier from what I read about the two others I found, they had less than 12 sides and were smaller though. Offering it for a very low price. This is a flow blue saucer in the Martha Washington or Chain of States pattern. The saucer features a rayed center with ribbon banner inscribed"DECUS ET TUTAMEN AB ILLO" a glory and the defense of it) Around the outside rim there is a chain with the names of 15 states. In the center of the saucer are the initials"MW" for Martha Washington. The saucer was made in England by an unknown maker for W.E. Woodman Co. I did some online research and found that in 1905 the Wilson Jewelry Co. changed their name to W.E. Woodman Company. This saucer is an interpretation of the flow blue of china given to Martha Washington for use in the White House in 1796. Condition of the saucer ... moreis good. There are no cracks and no chips. Polychrome Flow Blue Pitcher & Wash Bowl
UP for SALE is this absolutely beautiful flow blue polychrome wash set. The Water Pitcher has a sturdy wide handle with gold trim; the wavy rim has gold trim and flower design even on the interior of the lip. Large flowers adorn the sides in matches colors of cobalt blue. Light green, and rust with gold gilt highlights. There is also a raised design around the top areas just above the blue/gold band as seen on the left landside lip possibly a fire pop when made. The base is numbered 302 in gold no other mark I could find. Standing 12 ½ in. at the tallest and 9 ¼in. from spout to handle. There was a small repair and crack on the lip, which failed to survive the shipping. As you can see in the photographs the lip has been professionally and invisibly Restored in our studio returning it to its original splendor. The 16"+ Bowl ... morehas no issues and remains intact. This is just a fabulous Art Nouveau Flow Blue Soup Tureen marked"Paris" Semi Porcelain New Wharf Pottery. England(this is the 1891 mark) It's very clean and is in very good condition, there's 3 tiny fleabites on the edge of the bowl and there WAS a.25" chip on the under-side of the lids finial that could be seen when the lid was turned over. A completed invisible restoration to the finial has abated the chip completely.other-wise there's- no cracks- no staining- no color fading- the gold looks to be essentially intact- no glaze crazing and the colors are vivid and fresh. It measures 12-1/2" W from edge of handles by 6-1/4"H to top of lid knob by 8" D. The last 2 pictures show an underplate which is not included in this auction but can be included.

This is the Keswick pattern. Made by WOOD& SON. Very Good condition. No chips or cracks. Some wear on back and some pre-firing marks in the bowl and back. Measures 12"x 9 1/4"x 1 3/4" Flow Blue started in Staffordshire, England in the 1800,s. It was accomplished by adding Ammonia or a cup of lime to the kiln during glazing. 2 Burgess& Campbell vegetable bowls. Measures 9 1/4" long by 7" wide and 2" deep. One piece has a small. Small nick on the under side of the lip, they do have heavy crazing and discoloration, only light fading in the gold and is mostly to the rim. Please see photos. Very beautiful Antique Flow Blue Saucer with Vine and Leaf design. I do not know the maker. It has some impressed makers marks, F 3) which I have pictured. It is very similar to George Jones Flow Blue I saw on line, BUT I AM UNCERTAIN. I would describe this as brush strokes. Rich Cobalt Blue. This Saucer measures approximately 5& 3/4 inches diameter. There is a hairline crack, approx. 1& 1/2 inch in length, on the bottom of the Saucer and some small chips, see photos.

3 Historial Flow Blue Plates Washington DC Very Old
Up for bid are three very old Flow Blue Plates. Each one has a different Washington DC landmark. The three are the Capitol. White House and Library of Congress. The plates measure 10 inches across. They are marked on the back, but I cannot read the words due to the darkness of the flow blue. The Library of Congress plate has a few usage marks and one tiny nick under the rim. Only found it by running my hand over it. The White House plate also has a few usage marks and one tiny spot on the rim. I think it was probably done when made, looks more like a pop than a nick. Again, tiny and hard to see. The Library of Congress plate has several usage marks and has three spots that look like they popped when the plate was made. DESCRIPTION: A stunning English Flow Blue pedestal gravy boat in the“Lorne” pattern(Circa 1900) Made by and with the W. H. Grindley& Co. England mark on the bottom. The decor features bright cobalt blue“Lorne” shamrocks with white beading around the side. It even has some shamrocks on the inside of the spout! This gravy boat measures 8 ½” long from ornate handle to spout. 4” wide and 4” high. A lovely mid-Victorian Flow Blue serving piece! CONDITION: There are no chips. English FLOW BLUE - 8 1/2" Relish Dish - JAPANESE Pattern !
DESCRIPTION: A lovely Flow Blue oval relish or candy dish in the“Japanese” pattern made by and with the Hollinsh& Kirkham. Tunstall, England mark and pattern name on the bottom. It has rounded panels on each end. The décor is a deep dark heavily flowed cobalt blue floral pattern both around the sides and fully inside the bowl. There are some gold highlights and trim. It measures 8 ¼” across. 5” wide and 1 ½” tall. A rather unique English Flow Blue piece! CONDITION: There is a large chip at one end. Both on the inside and outside of the rim, plus another small dark blue rim nick near it. This piece also has normal fine crazing. FLOW BLUE - 9" Flat Rimmed Soup Bowl - FLORIDA
DESCRIPTION: A gorgeous Flow Blue flat rimmed soup bowl in the“Florida” pattern(Ca. 1900) Made by and with the Johnson Brothers, England maker’s mark on the bottom. The décor features darker and lighter cobalt blue cartouche forms along the scalloped rim. And a picket border around the well area. The cobalt blue is bright and well flowed(especially on the back) And it has lovely gold trim work around the rim. It measures very close to 9” in diameter. A stunning English Flow Blue serving piece! CONDITION: There are no chips. Flakes, cracks, hairlines, crazing or stains and the gold trim is still about 90% intact. There was a small chip along the rim. Which was professionally restored. It cannot be seen very well except that the glaze finish there is not quite as shiny as the rest of the bowl’s original glaze finish.
