Very Rare Vintage #8 Packer Cast Iron Excellent Shape Made In Canada
Here is a very rare Industrial#8 Packer. I was told it was used in paper mills to apply a special tape to products. It is something you certainly would not see just anywhere or very often! It is made of cast iron. It measures about 14 inches long X 6 inches tall X 5 1/4 inches wide. There is some peeling in the dish part of the unit which you can see in the pictures. Everything else looks excellent and in very good shape. It was made in Toronto. Ontario, Canada.

1916 Antique Cast Iron 'Packer' Paper Tape Dispenser, Red, Nice Cond.
This interesting. Antique cast iron"Packer" paper tape dispenser is in excellent condition with an Invention Patent number dating to 1916. Looks like all parts are present, except for the little rubber foot covers, one is still there. Still has all its original red paint with minor normal wear around the edges. It measures 14" long, 2-3/4" wide and 5-3/4" high, the others I have seen are 5" wide, so this is a narrower version that would use a narrow paper tape. The paper tape had dry glue applied to it which had to be moistened to be activated, it was pulled through the trough to wet it then cut on the seriated metal edge. True Vintage Quart Mason Jar by Jeannette Glass Co. Home Packer" is embossed. I cannot date this. But I do know it is in excellent condition for being used in canning for many years. From what I can gather after researching, The Jeannette Glass Co manufactured this jar during WWII, and the logo(glass mark) used on this jar was used in the early 20th century. My grandfather canned from the 1920's up into the 1990's and we are slowly going through his stock pile of jars! Please message me with any questions.
