Olympus Stereo Microscope Adaptor Set (2) Pair Eyepiece Lenses 10x & 20x Cased
We acquired this item with an estate lot. And we don’t know what this stuff was used for. The set isn’t complete, as there is one of the tubes missing. The tube that is there makes a 45 degree turn and has adjustments and lenses and mirrors or prisms it. The eyepieces were meant to fit into it and its missing mate, and are the 30mm diameter. There is a cap for one end of the tube and a screw cap that we don’t know what it fits. This may not be complete, but the eyepieces are worth a lot more than our starting price even if you have no use for the wood case and adapter tube. The case does have some ding and a chip out of one corner but is solid and works perfectly. There was some great foam in the case that have dried up and turned to a green powder, The powder is on the optic, and is loose and blows off with canned air, but the lenses will ... moreneed a good cleaning and we are not set up with lens paper and solution to clean them. First. We would like to thank the cat for posing in the pictures. Your help has been invaluable in making things difficult. This listing is for a SZ series stereo microscope. Cat not included. It is an imitation SZ60 stereoscope with trinocular port. We bought the unit in 2008 and it's been used a hand full of times since then. In 2009 it was professionally evaluated and cleaned by Absolute Clarity and Calibration LLC. The only wear point is a few light scratches in the 95mm glass stage plate. This stereo microscope has similar specifications to the SZ60. It has continuously variable zoom from 6.7x to 45x. The unit has really nice wide-field 10x oculars with 22mm high-eyepoint suitable for folks with glasses. See this link for an independent evaluation of the SZ60 series microscopes. The back of the microscope head has a flip switch to enable the light path to enter the trinocular port. We have specially configured this unit with a lower polarizing lens and a removable/rotatable polarizing lens threaded onto the bottom of the SZ unit body. This means you can view specimens through crossed polars. Unit includes the stereo microscope. This(1) power& 3) power on a turret microscope was in a closet probably for 30 years or so and is in excellent condition. Except for the power cord as where the switch is, the rubber grommets for the in and out put of the electrical cord have eroded due to age. Not a danger, but replacing them would be a piece of mind! And this is the only one I've seen this old that has a Swift light with it as well! As you can see by the pics, the light is in great working condition! This is a fairly heavy item as it's made to last probably forever!
