Don't laugh. but I found this in my CORO Book of Jewelry. Collector's Guide in between pages 42 and 43. =) I had intended to list in on Ebay a year or so ago, and had totally forgotten about it. Needless to say, it is a Coro necklace set in gold plating measuring 17.5 inches long. It is in excellent condition and features larger amethyst and rose pink colored crytal rhinestones accent by smaller amethyst and rose pink chatons. GREAT NECKLACE with no condition. Zuni Modern Style Necklace and Clip Earring Set w/Gold Plating
This auction is for a handmade Zuni necklace and clasp earring set with gold plating. The necklace measures 22" long and has a hook and round eye closure. The whole necklace is strung on fine wire. Not string. It has 5 oval discs that on close examination you can see were handmade. Four of the oval discs are the same size- alittle over 1" wide x 1 1/2" top to bottom. The large center oval disc is 1 1/2" wide x 2 1/4" top to bottom. The clasp earrings are the same size as the 4 smaller oval discs on the necklace- 1" wide x 1 1/2" top to bottom. Each disc has a ring of shiny, smooth silver on the outside. The inside is brushed silver with shiny and stamped design in the center. The southwestern pottery in each disc design has gold plating(Please see picture 3) The large necklace disc and one of the earrings ... moreis marked with the word sterling and the artist's initials(Please see picture 2) The earrings could easily be converted to pierced by a jeweler if preferred. The earring discs each have an extra"mesa" in the design- one on the left side. One on the right side- for a right and left earring. The necklace weighs approximately 90g. The earrings weigh approximately 20g. I say approximately because I do not have a digital scale. The necklace beads I believe are hollow. But all the discs are solid sterling and give the necklace a substantial presence that will keep the necklace centered when wearing. This substantial, well made set is truly an artisan piece that is sure to be noticed and treasured. It belonged to my Mom and was only worn a couple of times. Lovely Mid- 19th Century Sheffield Heavy Silverplate over Copper Platter 80dwts by A.B. Savory& Sons London. This platter measures 13 inches in length 10 inch width with a 2 inch depth and weighs very close to 2lbs. The 80dwts upon my research means 80% silver 20% copper and a piece dating back this age used real silver for platting with no alloys. Also. A.B. Savory& Sons London made mostly silver pieces. This beautiful piece has alot of charm and upon my research is a very rare find. There are some minor flaws to look at when viewing the pictures. A little copper bleeding on the bottom and two very tiny dings on the inside. Still a very lovely piece of silverplate approximately 150 years old and can be used and passed down from generations to come. It also has a lovely patina when left unpolished. 1922 BURNISHED GOLD CONN ALTO-EXC Physically, Plating & Pads/Freshly Regulated
This is a 1922 burnished gold-plated Conn alto. Serial number 91189, in excellent overall condition, needing nothing. Original gold-plate is 95% and in beautiful shape. Engraving is of a young woman in a diaphanous dress with her hand outstretched waiting for a butterfly to light, that amidst elaborate floral engraving. In fancy lettering engraved on the bottom bow is the owner's name, Richard Owen Robinson. Physically the horn is near perfect- no solder repairs, no dents or previous dent work, only a couple of minute pings if you look hard enough; the neck is in exceptional original shape. The horn was padded up a few years ago and then sat- the pads have scarcely been used. Flat metal resonators with the rivet through in the lower stack and what look like vintage Selmer metals in the upper stack. Horn has just been across the bench ... moreof top grade repairman who made sure it's ready to go. Horn comes in a decent, non-original case that fits well- the latches are light and one good draw latch added to the case would be smart. The horn has had a number of beneficial ergonomic improvements made- it is quite comfortable to play as a result. The strap hook was moved for better balance; a Selmer style adjustable thumb rest was put on for the right thumb; a Selmer style large flat thumb rest was put on for the left thumb; a 6M style G# key touch was made for better facility(it's also articulated) the side keys and palm keys have been bent upwards into a much better position and brass blocks put on the undersides for solidity. Onto which the corking is done. This is a great playing horn. Excellent intonation, set up and ready for use.
