If you want to use your SCUBA tank to supply portable compressed air just like your home compressor. This is what you need. This is a used but serviceable SCUBA regulator(may have plating scratches or small verdegris) which has been modified in the following way; 1) The submersible pressure gauge(SPG) hose has been removed and the SPG directly attached to the regulator through a(new) plated brass adapter. 2) A standard"industrial" style compressed air female quick coupler(new or good used) is connected to the low pressure port with a(new) custom adapter. 3) A(new) 200PSI relief valve is fitted to a low pressure port(not shown in the picture) to insure any regulator malfunction will not damage connected devices. This regulator has a fixed 140PSI output and can provide a continuous source of dry compressed air for use where it is ... moreinconvenient or impractical to use a compressor. For use with air tools. It is advisable to"stack" a low pressure regulator to further reduce pressure to sensitive tools such as nailer's. This is an excellent tool for inflating tires or toys. I build and sell these as portable propellant sources for use with pneumatic cannon t-shirt launchers. Many friends who are off-roader's use my regulators to re-inflate all 4 of their large off road tires. Used tanks are typically available at local dive stores or on local classifieds(Craigslist) for $75-100. Tanks can usually be rented(for day trips) for $5/day plus fill. Tank refills are typically $5. SCUBA shops will typically fill for you if you explain your intended, non-SCUBA use. I have multiple of this type. Although all are slightly different. They are functionally and qualitatively the very similar. In most cases, I use these regulators in my shop for several days after building them(I use this exclusively as my shop air source) so am pretty sure they work well over a range of operation.
