vintage airco aircraft torch valve smiths henrob brazing cutting hot rat rod tip
Hi I'm in the process of weeding out my extra brazing and cutting pieces. First is an old war-time AIRCO torch. There is no badge on it and no stamping, But from what I've researched it is the early version of a 700 with A size connections. It has the early corn cob grip, And the tip that is included is a MODEL 90 NO 5. The interesting thing is their are female threads for the tips, So the tip nuts have male threads that are protected by the hand grip. It's a cool design as it keeps the threads from getting banged up. Way lighter than my Victor that is the same size. Great for brazing bike frames and sheetmetal welding. This is in way better condition than the pictures look but it is still definitely vintage equipment. The valves are tight but smooth. And hold pressure. It uses the smaller hose size. Also included are 2 replacement ... morepress-in valves both oxygen and acetylene sides. I figured I'd throw in some more random AIRCO stuff since this will be shipped in a flat rate box. There are 3 torch cutting tips- 00.0& 1 sizes for a larger cutting setup, And 4 tips that look like a Henrob or Smith style size 2. 3, 4& 5. A larger AIRCO press in acetylene side valve for the big torch, A rosebud style AIRCO tip style 719 no 8, And another AIRCO tip style 90 size 9. The little random tip is a SMITH'S A22. Everything looks to be in useable condition. Nothing is plugged up or dropped or corroded. Great stuff to complete your vintage oxy-acetylene sets. Only selling to clear out some tool box space! Hi. Clearing out some of my extra oxy-acetylene parts. Up for consideration is a Victor J27 torch body. This is probably an old wartime aircraft torch, And this was rebuilt by the local welding supply store. I'm not sure if they send it out or do it in house. The body was beadblasted and everything is very clean. The valves/knobs turn very smoothly as they should, And they hold the pressure when off. The threads are basically perfect. The only bummer is someone used some type of pliers to remove the center, And there are a couple chew mark right below the valve body. Not too bad though. This is a really nice piece to add to your set. I really should keep this but I have a great J28 setup that works great although it is heavier and longer. That is why I'm keeping the tips and cutting attachment! Great for light duty sheetmetal welding ... moreand brazing for long periods of time-super light! Hi Clearing out some of my extra oxy-acetylene torch pieces. Up for consideration is a war-time AIRCO 9100 torch with 2 STYLE 919 tips no 2& 3. This hasn't been used for a while now but should be in working condition. The knobs or valves turn freely with good resistance and hold pressure off. The tips are not plugged up and all the threads are in good shape. I added the cut hose nuts to keep the threads from getting banged up. This has some wear to the plating. It has a Smith mixer number 1, with an AC309 cutting tip. Also 4 different welding/brazing tips numbers A5, A7,A2 and a heating tip. The oxygen gauge is a Harris model 25-200. The acetylene gauge is a Victor model SR460-A. Also included is 10 foot of hose, some starting/ cleaning equipment, and an adapter for one of the gauges. Description-13 ft UGA Uniweld H-12 Acetylene Single Hose(B" connections with 3/16" size hose) prestolite torch-prestolite adjustable regulator Paypal only! Thanks This burns with a nice blue and green flame. You will also need a type B cylinder to complete the setup. The prestolite torch is not an"acetylene' torch. It's an air/actylene torch. Air is sucked in through a venturi in the same way that your gas cook stove sucks in air. To make a proper mixture. Selling the torch with an adjustable pressure regulators and 13ft hose($30) Remember that you must NEVER have over 15 psi out of the regulator. They say that acetylene can self ignite at higher pressures. I think somebody even told me once that it's illegal to have acetylene at over 15 psi in the hose. If I were ... moreyou. I'd take the whole thing to a welding supply house and ask them to fix you up with whatever you need, except that I'd try to locate a used type B cylinder first. Note: You probably already know this. But the air/acetylene flame isn't anywhere near as hot as oxy/acetylene, but hotter than air/propane. Summing up. A prestolite torch is a good tool to have if you plan to do a fair amount of brazing, because it does produce more heat than the hardware store type of propane torch. Thanks!
