The back has the look and feel of an emory board. I think signs with this surface on the back are known as"Vitreous Porcelain signs" There are rack marks all over the back of the sign. This sign is from the estate of a truly oldtime collector. You may never get another chance to own one of these. All reasonable offers will be considered. Original Lonergan Hit Miss Antique Gas Steam Engine Motor Oilers Brass Magneto
This is a matching set of 3 original brass Lonergan oilers for a hit and miss gas or steam engine. They all have vent tubes so their original application was for the cylinder of a gas engine. They are rather unusual oilers and I'm not sure that I've ever seen any like them. They are all missing the glasses and are about the size of a#4 oiler. They are about 6 1/2 inches tall overall. None of them are in perfect condition but I think with a little effort you could make two decent oilers out of the three and have some parts left over. They all have 1/2 inch pipe threads on their bases. Two of them have the original filler plugs. They are all marked Lonergan on the tops. Take a look at the pictures and decide if you like them. It will likely be a while before any more like them turn up so don't miss them. Good Luck.

2 Vintage/Antique Hit Miss Gas Engine, Chrome Plated Oilers & 2 Brass Valves
I bought these oilers/greasers at an estate sale and my knowledge is limited. The two identical ones are 2 1/4" long. Total. The barrels are 1 1/8" long and 7/8" in diameter. The oilers/greasers appear to be chrome plated brass and I don't see any markings, When you turn the handle on them, the whole cap turns. The two brass valves are unusual, when you turn the handle a cap swings over the end. The valves are marked Imperial Brass. They have traces of yellow paint. Thanks for looking.

VINTAGE CIRCA 1899 NASH GAS ENGINE 20 HP NATIONAL METER CO BRASS BUILDERS PLATE. MEASURES 3-1/2" X 7-1/2"After being with the National Meter Company for seven years. Nash began the study of the gas engine and subsequently received sixty or more patents covering their design and operation. Many of them were extensively used by engine manufacturers, including the two cycle engine with piston controlled valves. Another patent covered the starting of gas engines by the use of compressed air, and this feature was adopted by all makes of large gas engines. The National Meter Company built the Nash engine in sizes up to about 400 horsepower. These engines were used in municipal electric lighting and pumping plants as well as for general power purposes. Probably the largest installation of the Nash Engine was at the Phoenix Tube Company ... morein Brooklyn, and consisted of two Nash Gas Engines, totaling 500 horsepower, operating on producer gas. The engines were directly connected to dynamos and although they operated under violently fluctuating load conditions, they ran well, both in regulation and economy modes. The Company claimed that the Nash Gas Engine running on producer gas, using anthracite buckwheat coal, was the most economical of power products, costing twenty cents per 100 horsepower-hour. Nash became chief engineer of the National Meter Company, but his relations with them were not the best. The Company never prosecuted infringements of their gas engine patents, and Nash's efforts were mostly unappreciated, for those at the head of the business not only failed to push his developments, but continually curtailed his authority. Nash Engineering Company[edit] His relations with the National Meter Company were becoming more strained, and when Nash conceived the idea of a new type of air pumping equipment, he resolved not to assign the patents to the Company, but to manufacture the product himself. Original MICHIGAN Brass Steam Engine Pump Oiler Hit Miss Gas Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a really nice original Michigan pump oiler for a steam engine or other piece of equipment. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind and just needs a little cleaning. It retains most of its nickel plating and has the original wooden knob on it. It is about a#3 or#4 size and the glass is good. Everything seems to work as it should. It stands about 9 inches tall overall and has 3/8 pipe threads that are in great shape. The only real blemish that I've noted is some wrench marks on the flats of the mounting hex. After some cleaning and a pair of new gaskets which are fun to make, this oiler will be ready to go to work on a steam engine or on your display shelf. These pump style oilers, especially the smaller ones, don't turn up very often in the wild or even at swap meets so if you need one don't ... moremiss it. It would even make a great spare. Old Ford Model T Car Truck RAYFIELD UF BRASS Carburetor Hit Miss Gas Engine WOW
This is a rather hard to find Rayfield Model UF carburetor for a Model T car or truck. It is mostly made of brass or bronze and seems to be in great condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. There is a neat little glass window on the side of the bowl for viewing the fuel level in the reservoir. This carburetor is fresh out of an old farm shop where it has lived for decades. It has a 1 9/16 inch intake and a 1 1/8 opening into the manifold. It mounts with two holes 2 1/8 inches apart on center. Everything seems to move as it should with very little wear and I think with a little cleaning and some minor parts like a spring on the throttle shaft this carburetor should be ready to go. I've seen a lot of Model T parts before but I've never seen another brass carburetor like this so if you'd like something different ... morehere it is. Very attractive vintage brass 3-arm chandelier with old fashioned brass tap detail to each arm. Decorative ceiling rose with fixing holes, fixed centre post hanging approximately 31" overall, will need a high ceiling or positioned over a dining table, needs a complete re-wire, as can be seen in the photographs there are some old splits to the brass around the main body but it is still very stable and will not show once the light is up.

You are bidding on this antique light fixture. It was“rescued” from a house clean out because it’s not a style you see very often. This came from Allegheny County. Pa. Lots of hills and mountains. Maybe it took a while for these areas to get electric, and they sold styles that were modern for that era, in both gas and electric. But once electric arrived, these probably went to scrap heaps for WW1. Will try to describe as best as can, it is a restoration project. Offered"as is" It has 3 lights on brass mounting plate, with matching canopy. It has on-off chains for gas flow adustment on each light, one chain missing. one adjuster doesn’t match, one does not work, two do. The top of gas socket has a venting, open/ close tab, all working. Has a 4“ fitter, with porcelain ends for gas flow. The top chains, one is missing, they are steel ... morechains. These are decorative and can be detached. The chains that hold the fitters appear to be brass, or non magnetic metal. There is rust here and there. There are two missing valves. See pics. It is approx. 31“ tall and 14“ wide. It is stiff, the lower chains do not bend, will be shipped in big box. As you might be able to tell from photos, it hasn’t been polished in a long time. There are breaks in the brass plate.
