Attention E-bay: Special Deputy lake county badge is circa 1960 and does not resemble the current Lake County Sheriff's Department Badge. Description: Badge looks to be made from nickel and the front of the badge was plated over the nickel to had a luster to it. Some of this plating is worn on the star ay11 o'clock and 6 o'clock. Not much though. There is no hallmark but with the full ball tips it was most likely made by C.H. Hanson. The badge has six full ball tips on each star point an applied Illinois state seal ring with the lettering being engraved. Badge is not very large at 21/4" X 2" Most likely was worn on the inside of a jacket label. Front reads"159 SPECIAL. On the 12 o'clock star, DEPUTY SHERIFF LAKE COUNTY, ILL" engrave lettering. This auction is for a vintage split bamboo 8' 6" fly fishing rod with an extra tip. Sock and tube, marked on the rod: ACCURATE- This quality vintage rod is fully functional and in excellent condition and appears just very lightly used. It does have a little tape near the end of one tip holding a thin splinter but is not broken through and a little glue and thread wrap should fix this. The other tip is missing some thread wraps by the lower ferrule but it is still well connected and presents no problems. The first section has some tape on the last line guide and this presents no problem either and just needs some thread wraps. The 3 piece rod weighs 4.8 oz. and the total weight in the sock and tube is 1 lb. 2 oz. The sock and tube are also in excellent condition with no damages. As always. Changing from right to left hand retrieve can be accomplished in seconds, as can changing to optional spare spools. The Tioga is suitable for use in both fresh and saltwater. In saltwater, it is always advisable to thoroughly rinse the reel in warm, fresh water to prevent the buildup of salt deposits. An occasional drop of light oil applied to the spool bushing, and backing off of the drag tension when not in use will also extend the life of the reel.
