Megger 500 Volt Insulation tester Circa 1940 A vintage test meter made by Evershed& Vignoles ltd. In good condition with purpose made leather carrying case(from the crown markings this was possibly a GPO Post office issue) The Bakelite case is in good condition with just minor scuffs and marks and someone in its past has inscribed polarity marks on the front. I know very little about how this worked but the crank handle turns and seems to work fine. The meter needle is free moving when the megger is turned upside down etc. I believe these were used to test the insulation of electrical cables. The case is in fair condition and the straps and buckles are all intact and working. Thanks for looking. apologies for the postage charge but as it weighs 1.8kg I had no choice)

This is a Metro Tel 8455 KS Kick Meter with Voltmeter. Ohmmeter and polarity reversing switch. The 8455 measures loop resistance to identify and locate line faults. The meter measures DC voltage from 0 to 100 volts and loop resistance to 2 megohms with mid-scale ranges of 100,000 and 10,000 ohms. The scale also shows a points value from 0 to 100. Accuracy is 2% of scale. Switches are: On/Off also marked as ohms and voltage; a polarity reversing switch used to kick the line; a R/10 key; a zero adjust control for proper resistance checks. WESTERN ELECTRIC combination volt& ohm meter. Post WWII era. Heavy Bakelite casing, clean and totally intact. The interior is clean with a BELL battery in place, not corroded. The volt meter works correctly to measure house current. The ohm meter is untested due to the battery age. The knobs turn easily; the connections are clean. The wires are supple and intact; the prongs are clean and intact. The box measure 5.75" x 5.50"x4.25" approx, and weighs 1# 14 oz. The wires are 46" long with prongs. This instrument was rescued from a camp on Lake Winnepesaukee many years ago and has been used occasionally in an inside workshop.
