Vintage Chain Mail Metal Mesh Apron Butcher Safety Stainless Hunting Fishing
Offered is a vintage safety apron made of non-magnetic stainless steel. This is a well-made but unmarked apron. The front is made up of small square plates which are interlocked with round metal fasteners on the back. There are canvas bands with eyelets at both top(the belt) and bottom. The belt is fitted with a double-D ring fastener. The apron measures 16 inches tall by 20 inches wide. The canvas belt is 43 inches long. This is a heavy piece which weighs about 2 ½ pounds. The apron shows some staining and there is 1 missing interlocking ring. Someone labelled the belt with magic marker. Please refer to pictures to evaluate condition for yourself. Vintage butcher’s apron – stainless steel, 1950s
Vintage stainless steel safety apron used by a family member when he worked in a meat-packing factory in the 1950s. Metal apron itself measures app.15½” x 19” The 42” canvas belt fastens with“D” rings and has two smaller“D” rings meant to be tied to trouser belt loops(to prevent sagging) Both top and bottom canvas strips are attached to the metal with grommets. The apron is made of small. Interlocking pieces of metal that make the apron very flexible and comfortable. Weighs about 2½ pounds. In excellent condition. With no sign of rust. The canvas chest strap is marked, U.S. I don't know if it's military or comes from another agency. It's made of stainless steel with a tab-maile construction. Perhaps the most protective"chain mail" of all. It's super tough and super strong. Straps around the neck and at the waist. The straps are made of heavy-weight canvas and are adjustable. This is a shorter apron- some of them go down around the thighs and strap to the legs- this one does not. It does fall just above the knee though depending on how tall you are and how you adjust it. Would be great for dressing game or other butchering work. Measures approximately 28" long x 17" ... morewide. This listing is for(1) chain glove as seen in the pictures above. This is a used item. I found this in a box i got from a local estate sale. It is in good shape for its older age. There are no tags on this so i am not sure of the maker but it looks similar to Davis gloves. There is a slit on the side of the glove that has exposed area.
