Description: This auction is for a Teletype Model 28 ASR unit's LXD7 Tape Distributor unit(TD) which was made for the US Military(Navy) and the matching ASR front cabinet cover that snaps in place. The tape sending unit itself mounts in front on the left hand side of the operator on a Model 28 ASR. It permits resending of a punched tape as long as that tape is in good condition. The LXD units plug directly into a pre-wired ASR harness and are driven by a mechanical shaft's pinion gear which rotates the unit's input gear. Condition: Very very good. Used, excellent physical condition, no damage observed, and obviously redeployable. No factory harness or chasis ... morewires have been cut and no parts robbed that I can see. Cycles easily by hand and showed lubrication still protecting it. No rust of any significance can be found and the unit is remarkably well preserved.
