Up for grabs is this really neat magazine advertisement. This measures approximately 10 1/2" X 14" This would beautiful in a frame and would make GREAT gifts or just for your own home décor. Here is another piece of our American history! Item is packaged between two pieces of cardboard for protection in the mail delivery. These ads that are from the early 40’s and 1949. taken from Life Magazines) are not quite as great as some of the others as far as ... morecondition. There are quite a few that appear to have gotten slightly damp or wet at the top. I trimmed as much as I could off to get rid of anything that may have mad the ad look bad, as far as discoloration, etc. Some only have a slight ripple to it that would flatten out eventually if framed or laid flat with something heavy on it. I also tried to get a picture of any imperfection/damage, but sometimes it doesn’t show up as well in a picture as it does with the naked eye. All are great ads, but you will need to ask before bidding/buying if you have any concerns. I don’t feel that these smell musty, but rather old, if that makes sense. DISCLAIMER: Most of these ads have not been trimmed. The ones that have are just slightly under the size listed above. If you are curious about the exact size. Please do not hesitate to ask. The set contains 7 C9 Swirl Flame Inside Colored Bulbs with a silver base, made by Westinghouse. The catalog number is No. 6597. One end of the string has a bakelite connector for adding an additional set. The other end has a bakelite plug. The set operates in parallel, which means when one bulb burns out or becomes loose, the rest stay lit. Since these swirl bulbs are getting harder to find, a dimmer device would save these bulbs a lot longer and still give you enough light. One can be purchased for about $10 from your local home improvement store; such as Home Depot, Lowes, etc. This string is in Good Condition. The string is original. Vintage Howard Miller International World Time Light Up Wall Clock Working motor
Vintage Howard Miller clock. 1959. I left this on for two weeks and it kept the time for all parts of the world. The light switch is sketchy and may need to be replaced or repaired. I held it down and some times the light stayed on, some times it did not. The back is removable so a knowledgeable person could do any necessary repairs. Size is 24 x 17 x 4 inches. There is slight yellowing on the white maps near the frame. My guess it's from the on-board lamp heat over time. The map, which is not quite flush against the glass, remains stationary while the time moves along in the background, which can be seen through the various windows all over the world. As you can see from the pics, a little critter got inside and has been there for decades, I would imagine. A knowledgeable person could likely open this up. Remove the critter, make the ... moremap more firm against the glass, and fix or replace the light switch. There are operating instructions on the back panel-which is easily removable. The wood is vintage and could be left in its current charm or refinished. It's up to the new owner. The clock motor works and moving time chart work very nice as stated and remained on time for two weeks when I tested it. So it's being sold as a working clock even though the description of the the things that make this item unique have been noted above. A great conversation piece. Collectible and learning tool.
