WWII Japanese Type 97 Sniper Rifle Scope Telescopic Sight with Case & Brush vtg
There are 12 pics above plus an additional 112 photos below the description. WWII Japanese Rifle Scope with Case& Brush Recent estate find. You are getting the scope. The case and the brush. The brush was found in its holder inside the case, so I assume it is original. I am not an expert, but I believe this scope is for a Japanese Type 97 Sniper Rifle. The mount of the scope is numbered 2621. Which would have matched the rifle number that it was originally issued with. The manufacture serial number that is on the barrel of the scope, above the J.E.S. mark, is No. 15534. There is a maker's mark above this number(pictured) and as you know, this scope is a 2.5 power x 10 degree. You all know much more about this item than I do. So I won't bore you with any more details about what it is, and I will simply move on to describing the ... morecondition. It wasn't easy for me to picture the view through the scope. But I was able to capture enough photos for you to get the gist of things, and as you can see in the pics, there are several specs, tiny spots, particles and that sort of thing. There are no cracks or anything like that, but the view is obviously not clear. I assume these spots are from dust or something of that sort inside the scope. But I don't know for certain. The outside glass that I can see is clean, and though there may be some light or faint scratching, there isn't anything that seems to be related to the specks. I guess that means the inside would need to be cleaned. However, I am confident that it would be at least somewhat difficult to open this scope. I suppose it might not be possible. I could be wrong, because I don't know what screw does what, but all of the screws have at least some level of wear with the smaller screws having truly major wear. The two larger screws look usable. But they are rusted and probably have not been touched in many years, so the difficultly could be rather great in getting them to unscrew. The small screws look awful- they are rusted and stripped. Here is a old steel fishing rod that I would guess is a rare fishing rod that is marked. VERY NEAT OLD FLY ROD! I have never saw a long Steel& Brass fly rod like this with the two telescopic ends made of Brass. The part next to the handle looks like some type of metal or steel and the two sections that you can pull out are Brass or Bronze. VERY cool old metal Fly Rod! The handle area where the old fly reel would go is marked RICHARDSON and the R is inside a Triangle as shown in pictures. The old rod shows well but needs a good cleaning. The vintage fly rod is a long 8 feet 4 inches when extended and 3 feet 5 inches closed. VERY COOL fly rod and may be a rare fishing rod? It has the" XBK" industrial code which was used after 1948 and during the Communist Era. It also has the t he'Crossed Swords' mark which was the symbol of the Czechoslovakian armed forces. This scope appears to be designed to measure bearing(horizontal) for Artillery. I'm not at all sure of the usage of this item. It can be for one or more of the flowing purposes(or a combined purpose) 1. Part of an Artillery Rangefinder Theodolite. 2. Artillery“ Aiming Circle” US) or“Director” U.K. used to establish a common direction at targets. 3. Artillery“ Boresight” used for adjustments made to a ... morefirearm sight to align it with the firearm barrel. 4. For calculating fire angles and drift in gunnery. The original tin carrying case of the scope is in green color with some wear. Rust and some dents. No marks that I can see. The scope has a leather lens cover and a metal bracket to attach the scope to a gun barrel/gun part. The tin case measures 20.2 X 6 X 6 cm(7.95 x 2.36 x 2.36 inches) Condition: The scope is in fair condition, s howing some age& usage that are to be expected in a vintage piece- but nothing that detracts from its function. Hearing aid devices were first documented in the 1600's and continued to be made into the 1960's. Made of a lightweight bakelite or vulcanite material, the horn collapses telescopically while the ear tip section is threaded and angled for directionality. Size: 13 1/2" long x 2 3/4" diameter. Starts and runs ok, smokes a little. 3 speed shuttle shift transmission, strong and shifts firm. Good service brakes and solid park brake. Just serviced up with new oil, filters, grease. No big oil leaks. Tires are 20% to 50% tread(see pics) all air filled. This machine has a few hours on it but it runs and operates pretty well.
