This is a comercial double tar kettle there is no burner or propane tank included. There is rust on front and bottem of umit that will need to be patched to use.There is a 8 horsepower briggs and stratten pump no extension poles or adapters from the unit It has been sitting for several years. the tires are holding air but are dry rotted. Reeves 140 gallon roofing asphalt tar kettle propane built-up roofing equipment
Feel free to make an offer. This is a reeves 140 gallon asphalt kettle(single burner draw kettle) It has had one owner and was stored in a warehouse(between uses) up until just a few months ago. The outer sheet metal skin is rusted especially along the bottom. The way these kettles are made they have a steel tub inside which holds the asphalt. Then there is a layer of insulation and then the outer sheet metal skin. So even though the outer layer is rusted the kettle will still heat and dispense asphalt as it was designed to do. It comes with the burner and a 100# propane tank(that is approximately 3/4 full) four professional hot buckets and one professional mop bucket. The tires are good and it is ready to use. It is not in need of an interior cleaning. Those of you who have really been around built-up roofing for a while will know what I ... moremean by that. I have taken plenty of kettles apart for cleaning in my 30+ years of doing built-up roofing so I do my best to keep the inside of my kettles free of debris(which also means skimming the top of the asphalt while the kettle is in use to remove the floating crystallized asphalt) and I don't let my employees overheat it. If you overheat your kettle it will cause a build up of coke around the tubes and kettle performance will suffer. Longer heat up times and more fuel burnt to maintain temperature. Also a"dirty" kettle is more apt to catch fire(any kettle will catch fire if you overheat it or if you don't keep enough asphalt in it to sufficiently cover the tubes) and drain slower at the drain cock. Again, to some of you that will not mean anything but those who really know about kettles will know what I am talking about. I will not ship it. It will have to be picked up in Santa Fe, Texas. Brand new this kettle will cost $4800 plus shipping. One decent size built-up roofing job will pay for this kettle. Payment through paypal or cash either one is fine with me. Here is a decent shape. EZ Pour 100 gallon tar kettle hot pot. I don't know much about this unit, I sprayed some ether in engine carb and it fired right up. It is powered by an Onan engine that runs on propane. Hour meter is reading 3200 hrs. It is full of tar. There is a hose with an end for applying tar in back compartment. This unit looks to be in good shape. I just towed it home, so its road worthy with good tires and it tows nice. Hydraulic fluid looks clean and is up to level, as well as engine oil. These units are very expensive new, buy here and save big. This sells as is where is, as pictured, the engine runs, but without propane hooked up to it, we can't test the rest of it. The kettle hasn't been used for a couple yrs. Kettle did operate and still pump tar when it was last used. As you can see is in the pictures it has some rust holes in the front panel, the rear panel and the 2 exhaust stacks. No rust on the bottom and the frame is still in great shape. Im selling as is but it looks to me they all can easily be patched and repaired. The kettle is still full of tar and both tires are still in good shape and it pulls straight down the road.
