Vintage Dental or medical X ray viewer light box portable 1960's / 1970's
This item is a vintage 60's/ 70's era small portable Dental or Medical X-ray viewing/ light box. This came from the estate sale of a dentist in Florida. I could not find a maker mark. It is in overall very good. Vintage, working condition. It does have normal age flaws as follows: Scratches to paint, light soiling throughout, some remnants of old tape on the frame, overspray on 4 rubber feet and the 4 rubber holders, soiling at edges of glass from overspray and dirt. Two of four inside metal glass holder support pieces have rust and some staining inside and to glass(see pic 6. 9& 10) The item worked when tested and can stand on it's 4 rubber feet(shown in pic 3) or there are 2 manufactured holes on the back for mounting on a wall(see pic 2) The wiring appears to be original but in good condition(see pic 11& 12) NO fraying ... moreor cuts. It takes two 14 watt bulbs(not included) As a courtesy. I will send the 2 used bulbs are already in it and they worked when tested but due to age. I won't guarantee them to work on arrival or for long. The 4 metal and rubber holders that are flush up against the glass can be adjusted for tension by loosening the screw that holds it in place. The metal frame measures approximate 11.5" x 15.5" The X-ray viewing window is approximate 8.5" x 12.5. The paint is off white/cream color and looks like it was repainted at least once by the former owner. There is a metal push button on the front right side, to turn on the item. This is a used MinXray Hf 100 with normal wear and tear. Included in the sell is a set of new 16 inch wheels and new yellow covering for the unit(I will not install these but they will be sold with the unit) New shocks. Exposure cord have been installed. This system was calibrated in Jan 2014. Normal scratches on the back of the unit due to soft padding being wore out. I have installed a new pad, see pictures. Golden Engineering XR-150 Portable Bomb Squad X-ray Machine Primary Inverter Mod
This is the fire control and primary inverter module from an Inspector XR-150 portable bomb squad x-ray source. The machine this was from had a blown HV diode in the high voltage physics package module. see my other listings for the good interesting parts that were salvaged from the x-ray physics package) This item has a mosfet based high frequency inverter. The low voltage high current half of the main inverter transformer, the timer, and the X-ray pulse counter. The pulse counter senses high current demand from the inverter to trigger the count. It worked well when tested with the physics package from another inspector 150, so if you have one with a blown FET(most common failure of these machines) but good HV physics package this will be a literal screw on repair that will have your XR-150 up and running in a couple minutes. From a parts ... morepoint of view you have an extremely efficient, high current, high frequency inverter that would work great as a starting point for many portable high energy physics or laser projects. I will include the shell of the HV physics package(not shown) for US bidders with the HV section of the transformer so you can see how it works, or if you are daring, to try and salvage the HV secondary for a portable power source for driving a nitrogen laser or other high energy device. It runs off 6.3 to 9.6V at several amps of current maximum draw. This item is pretty hard to find, I have lots of lasers and other unique stuff for sale this week.

This is an almost unused spare tube for a Golden engineering XR-150 series x-ray machines. These flash type x-ray tubes are extremely expensive and difficult to purchase new. The best way to drive this tube is to deliver a pulse from a blumlein line. Spiral line(see my other listings) or a marx generator. The minimum flash over voltage to energize the tube is about 95kVp, the optimum flash over voltage is 150kVp, max is 250kVp. I tested this tube and it works VERY well. This item is pretty hard to find I have lots of laser and other unique stuff for sale this week.
