This is antique painting originates possibly from the late 1800s or the early 1900s. Painting is in a good condition. But there are two very small spots with missing/broken paints and needle size hole. These are barely visible, cannot show them on photograph when picture is hung on the wall. Please see attached pictures, or ask for more close-ups. I have two more paintings by Zsolnay; and two by Zombor– another Hungarian painter- please visit my store in order to view them. I did find these in Stonington CT where there is. And was a fishing fleet that used these. All the old small single handed Dragger's used them before becoming electric( They were mounted to the port and starboard side by way of slip brackets enabling them to removed and then replaced without the use of any tools. I grade all my cans using capmatchescolor.com official can grading scale. If you are not familiar with it. The description of each grade is below. Grade A Perfect condition. Very rarely used. More of a theoretical grade. Almost every can, no matter how wonderful the condition, will have some minor flaws upon close inspection. A tiny bit of tarnish on the side of a rim, a minuscule knick in the paint, a blemish on the seam, any wear to a paper label at all, or any other tiny defect will rule out applying a grade of A. A conservative grader will have few or no cans graded A. Grade 1++ 1++ means almost A or almost perfect. Paper labels will show only very ... moreminor wear. No tears, no rips or holes. One or two extremely minor flaws which are not apparent or barely apparent upon close inspection are allowed. Most of the imperfections on a 1++ can will be on the rims(necks) of the can, which will show almost no or very minor burrs or minor oxidation/tarnish. Paper labels must be in excellent shape with no foxing, rust spots, glue spotting, tears, printing smears or misprints. It is very difficult to find older paper labels in 1++ condition. Antique Country Primitive Metal Oil Lamp in Original Old Blue Paint, rustic, old
Here's a great-looking. Antique oil lamp up for bids without reserve. Made of metal, it's footed, has its original burner, and glass chimney. It has a great, untouched surface with old, worn blue paint that also appears to be original. It's still a bit dusty and dirty from decades of storage and has some minor surface rust in spots which adds to its country charm. There are no rust holes or problems that would cause the font to leak. The edge of the base has a small ding that is hardly noticeable. The lamp isn't bent, it stands straight and level. The knob that adjusts the wick turns properly but we haven't been able to unscrew the burner. The chimney is that old, wavy glass as you can see in some of the photos. Including it, the lamp stands about 19 3/4 inches tall; without it, it measures about 8 inches high without ... morethe burner. The bottom has a 5 inch diameter. It could still be used but it would really make a wonderful accent piece, especially in county, shabby chic, rustic, and antique settings. Old and unique, we offer it to the highest bidder. Up for bids a Antique 1870s Reverse Paint Glass& Cast Iron Pedestal Oil lamp. Font Only. Stands 11 1/4" tall. 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" iron base. Tiered clear font with small sunbursts inside diamonds and tied back drapes pattern. The burner mount is tight and the threads are in good condition. The mount is also marked with two patent dates that are difficult to read. The easiest to read I believe is APR 13. 1875 the other may be MCH 21, 1876. see image) Some light scratches and some impurity flaws in both the font and glass pedestal. No chips or bump marks. The iron base has been spray painted and has a number 3 cast into it underneath. Some oxidation. I also have another lamp font that is very similar in style with a blue globe.
