There is no back up battery for this system but they can be purchased fairly cheap. Also the instruction manual is included. Everything seems to be working great but the trouble light on the keypad kept coming on and I'm not sure why but I think it is because I have a resistor switched as I rewired the system using smaller pieces of wire to test. Also there is some wire I will send with the item that was left over. I found out that the trouble light coming on is do to the siren as it is not the correct siren so you may have to buy one so I will lower the BIN price. Also need to say you do not have to hook this system up to any phone lines as it could work just the way ... moreit is. Added piece of mind just knowing a siren would go off if someone tried breaking into your house after you head to bed. Also could be great for a backyard shed or garage.
