Baroid Resistivity Meter for testing of Oil Drilling Mud 1959 by Nat'l Lead Co.
A thrift store find this Baroid Resistivity Meter seems to work just like it should. I couldn't easily come up with a new battery- the one it came with is dead- but I used a 9 volt in series with my 12 volt car battery and found the unit to work as I would expect it to. Filled with bottled drinking water the meter went to near full scale on the high resistance side. Once a little salt was added it showed a resistivity level of about 2. The first picture shows the test results using the salt water solution. The new owner will have to purchase a new battery to be able to use the unit. Although new at eBay. I have the help of a friend who has sold over 400 items with a 100% positive feedback rating before stopping due to health concerns. Megger 500 Volt Insulation tester Circa 1940 A vintage test meter made by Evershed& Vignoles ltd. In good condition with purpose made leather carrying case(from the crown markings this was possibly a GPO Post office issue) The Bakelite case is in good condition with just minor scuffs and marks and someone in its past has inscribed polarity marks on the front. I know very little about how this worked but the crank handle turns and seems to work fine. The meter needle is free moving when the megger is turned upside down etc. I believe these were used to test the insulation of electrical cables. Up for your consideration is for a used Chase Air Indicator Kit. This Forney Chase Air Indicator(Model LA-345) offers an indication of the amount of entrained air in freshly mixed concrete. Exterior concrete needs to have entrained air to compensate for the freeze/thaw cycles of winter and summer. It is used but in good condition.
