Techkor Instrumentation Argus Automated Measurement System
Techkor Argus Automated Measurement System For sale- a Techkor Instrumentation Argus Automated Measurement System. I can’t find a lot about this piece on the web. But it appears to be a sixteen channel data acquisition system used in stress/strain analysis, vibration testing, and temperature measurement. Essentially this is a Pentium 166MHz computer inside a rack mount that I guess would accommodate interchangeable plug-ins. It is currently fitted with 16 Calibrated A1000 Amplifiers. Whatever they are. Two of the few items that popped up when I searched were Technical Bulletins from Techkor that mention it in conjunction with vibration testing and accelerometers. And temperature measurement using thermocouples. Nothing other than the rack mount unit you see pictured is offered here. And specifically there are no accelerometers or thermocouples, ... morenor are there any additional cables other than the AC cord if you will remind me. I also saw it mentioned on a third party site that has a synopsis of an article on resistive strain gage use. But again, no outboard sensors or other hardware is included. Techkor appears to be alive and well here(a division of Advanced Conversion Technology) Specializing in the kind of sensors already mentioned. I do not see anything on their website about the Argus. So I have no idea if any support is still available for this system or not. You should do your own homework in that regard before you buy. I have several of these available but have only the one pictured will boot completely up and has a functional LCD display. From the Main Menu I was able to navigate around using the keypad. Several of the various screens are pictured. That is the extent of my testing and NO warranty is offered. However. Dated 7/94, and the opening sentence of the introduction states that it is“a state-of-the-art measurement system that features a broadband gated R.F. amplifier, a unique tracking receiver, quadrature phase sensitive detectors, gated integrators and a frequency synthesizer. Which is all great. But it tells me absolutely nothing about what the thing does. The rest of the manual was equally evasive regarding the actual application of the thing. So it was a pleasant surprise to look online and quickly find all sorts of things that point to it being an ultrasonic NDT system. If somehow I have misconstrued these things and it isn’t used for non-destructive testing. You have my apologies. What you see in the pictures is ... morethe“system” that I have to offer. If the pictures appear to be missing some key element please do NOT assume it to be included. In addition to the main RAM-10000 unit. It comes with an RSD-1 High Power Transformer, a PAB 0.05-20 High Impedance Pre-Amplifier, and an RCDX-2 Clamped Diplexer. It also has a Gated Amplifier with it. This is an MDL LaserAce 300 Laser Measurement tool with attached horizontal angle encoder. These units are typically used by surveyors and engineers for measurements. This is a reflectorless unit as well. It does not need a reflector to operate. When used with a reflector, the operating range is greatly increased. Unit is in good condition with scuffs. Light scratches and marks from normal usage and storage. There is no rubber surround on the eye-piece, although it does not affect the unit at all. The unit has an 8-pin interface port on the side for interfacing with external components. The unit operates off of two standard AA batteries(not included) It powers on properly when the red-button is pressed. Looking through the scope you can see a red dot(that signifies the target) The display is in good shape with no dead pixels or lines.
