Vintage Wood Hat Brim Block Form Imprinted 7 3/8 - 915 - Grand (makers mark)
Up for your consideration is a wonderful vintage wooden hat brim form/mold. With a slightly worn, dark stained finish.it is in over all nice vintage used condition and a great piece of the past.Usual wear in the wood for over the years(for more condition description, please refer to above) It is a hat oval shape. With a indent inside as seen in the photo, and a narrow groove along the bottom of the outer edge.There are 2 holes with a metal insert on the back of the mold, perhaps for attaching it to a platform. The numbers 7 3/8 and 915 are etched in the side of the wood(hat size? and the maker's mark Brand is also etched in the side of the wood. The hat form measures: 12 1/8" long x 11" wide. It is about 2 1/4" thick. This is a nice piece of a bygone era. And would display great! Vintage Merriman Bros Boston Bronze Block Pulley Trident Mark 29LB 17" HUGE RARE
Vintage Pre WWII Merriman Brothers. Boston, rare over-sized bronze and ash block pulley, with both sides having a 2" diameter bronze Trident mark. Seller not a collector or knowledgeable on this subject. All four sides have 4 bronze pegs, each measuring 1/4" diameter. The top iron hardware loop is 3"H X 2"W X 3/8" thick. The block itself measures 14" X 10 1/2" X 5" thick. The bronze middle pulley part measures 1 1/2"W. Weight 29lbs. Original finish wood patina. Although it does have an old split in the wood, on one side, this item is in good solid, functional, or decorative condition. 12 photos to view. RARE Large STEUBEN CENTERPIECE FISH BOWL 1903-1933 CARDER ERA Block Letter Mark!
Offered for auction is this extremely early and very rare large Vintage STEUBEN BOWL from the CARDER ERA of 1903-1933. The bowl is properly marked on the bottom with an acid etched makers mark"STEUBEN" block letter signature. This mark was ONLY used during the Carder era of 1903 to 1933. This very large bowl is just over 13" wide. Has about a 9 1/ 2" opening and is about 7 1/2" tall. The one picture shows a water bottle next to the bowl to give you an idea of the true scale of this piece. The overall condition is wonderful with just a few tiny scratches on the bottom and a few flea bites around the rim. This is to be expected with an older massive piece like this. I think that most of the hairline scratches on the underside of the base can be professionally rubbed out, but I will leave that up to the buyer. The few ... moreflea bites are not noticeable, I had to feel to find them. I took the bowl to the Corning Glass Museum and found out it was a Fish Bowl form made by Steuben. The Curator of American Glass looked at it! The mark is the proper one for the time of manufacture which was thought to be the 1920's under Frederick Carter's time at Steuben. It does not show any evidence of ever being used as a fish bowl and probably has spent its time as a center piece to a large table or in someones collection. This large crystal bowl"rings" like a large bell! Pieces of REAL old Steuben like this are getting very hard to find since Steuben's closing! They are being bought up rapidly for collections around the world. I purchased this wonderful bowl at an auction located in the Southern Tier Region of New York State close to Corning NY. The color of this piece is, in my opinion, what makes it so grand. In one light it looks green, in another light it looks yellow, and then again amber!
