The main shaft is machined and the holding washer( also 304 stainless) is pressed on from the back end up to a stop that is machined into the shaft for a solid holding ring. They are ... moremachined from 304 stainless steel and have a holding washer(also 304 stainless) that is pressed onto the spout from the back side up to a shoulder that is machined into the spout shaft for a solid holding ring. These spouts also include a stainless steel hook that slides on from the back side allowing you to use them with buckets even the ones with the small entrance holes in them such as the rolled aluminum Canadian buckets. These spouts can also be used with sap sack holders simply by removing the hooks and using as a(hookless) style spout with any sap sack holder or bucket that has a 3/4" or larger entrance hole. These spouts have a slightly longer shaft than our sap sack holder model to allow the sap to drip farther into the bucket so it drips past the hook to prevent the sap from landing on the hook and dripping on the outside of the bucket. Interesting group of 25 maple syrup taps-all by various makers- most just have Pat'd or similar on them. But the 2 that are straight with a minor curve all have Pat 3-22-19, Makers incl. Soule and Warner and many unmarked. All pulled out of a falling out maple sugar house on a local condemned farm.
