This is a"lawsuit guitar" from ... morethe 70s. Penco was forced to stop making these by the original manufacturer(Gibson) due to copywrite infringement. I have seen the Hummingbirds and others. But never the Dove. This guitar is the same as the original including the mustash bridge with the doves, and the dove pick guard with the doves. Spruce top and one piece mahogany back and sides. Bridge is pulling a bit from the bottom edge as shown, but still very solid, front edge of bridge has pulled down just a hair in front of it. The neck is still straight and the action is good. About an 1/8" or less at the 12th fret. Sounds everybit as good as other Gibson acoustic guitars I have. Wood has mellowed well. Penco was a Philly co. that imported from Japan some very fine guitars in Japans peak manufacturing period. Still has the original label inside with a hand written serial number. Hard to make out, but looks like 176 maybe another low number, like I said I have never seen another one. Plays well& sounds great. I charge exact for shipping! The dream of players and collectors, together with Selmer guitars. This 1958 Grand Model has a green label with the original and rare signature of Barnabe Busato on it. In the 50’s, Busato continued to make moyen and grand models, and made also many special instruments. Thirty people worked for Busato, in three workshops. This one here is his version of Selmer. It sounds like a Grand Model. With a 50% Selmer sound signature and a 50% Busato sound signature, and looks very much like a Selmer. The way it is built is similar to Selmer: It has 3 bars in the back and 5 braces on the top like Selmers, the braces are pointy like all high-end Busatos, the back is almost flat like a Selmer, and the neck is one piece ... morelike a Selmer. Also there are aluminum bars in the neck like Selmers. Furthermore, Busato picked Indian rosewood for the back and the sides, with a grain and color finish similar to Selmers, and the scale is 670mm, like all oval hole Selmers. This guitar reminds me very much of my Selmer, which I sold at Djangobooks earlier this year for 25,000$. Because of the Busato touch, it sounds better than the dozen Selmers I played, and sounds as one of the top 3 Busato Grand Model I own(I have a dozen) Huge projection, dry bark, superbly balanced sound, the highs are just singing and they cut through so much that you will overpower three other guitar players who would play with you together. This guitar belonged for years to a M. Winterstein, a cousin of Hono Winterstein. As any gypsy guitar used for decades by gypsies it does not look new like a modern guitar taken out of its box for the first time. It just plays million times better and sounds spectacular, in spite of a couple of minor flaws. The guitar is in great shape. Early 1970's( Yamaha FG180 Guitar with Case NO RESERVE SCROLL DOWN FOR PHOTOS Up for bids is an older Yamaha FG-180 guitar that I believe to be from the very early 1970's. This one has the red label. And while it looks just like a Japanese made Yamaha it's marked Made in Taiwan on the back of the head. From what I have read online these early Taiwan guitars are about as highly regarded as their Japanese counterparts. I would actually say that this one sounds and plays better than some Japanese FG-180's I've played, having better volume and lower action. The guitar appears to be all original and it's in nice shape for its age. There are some small nicks and dings here and there but no cracks or repairs. Most of the finish wear is on the sides so the front and back are pretty clean. The top is nice and flat and the bridge ... moreis firmly attached with no gap. The neck is straight with comfortable action- I'm including photos showing the string height at the 5th and 12th frets. This is a nice example of an early model HF-2. well known in online forums for its unique flange sound Serial# 629800 dates it to 01/1986. These first came out in late 1985. It is a green label. Works fine. The HF-2 is combining the original signal with a delayed signal that is shifted one octave up to create a flanging effect a bit different but still similar to the BF-2. The effect is brighter and cleaner than the BF-2. The HF-2 may not be as powerful as the BF-2. But for hi frequency flanging it produces a very good result. Replaced the heavy tuneomatic bridge with a solid rosewood insert and added a bone saddle.There's more than one way to get a guitar to intonate without having a half pound of steel growing out of the bridge.Great idea that works for intonation. but.not for sound. This sounds better and is dead on intonated.Sounds as good and rumbles right along with my Gibson J-200 That i paid alot of* money for. Who can figure it! Iv'e replaced the old worn frets leveled the fretboard,and installed new medium higher jumbo frets. Did wonders for sustain and playability. Lowered the nut height so it plays alot smoother and faster up at the money frets. ... morereplaced the old plastic bridge pins with Rosewood sloted numbers that as you can see look great! Do they make the instrument sound better some think so i'm one of them. Comes with the tuneomatic bridge that you can re-install in about 5 minutes so you can drive your self crazy for a few days to hear which one sounds better to your ears. I did it. put it on.Take it off put the other one on,so on and so on, The Rosewood just sounds better and allows the top to vibrate and the bridge to occilate better. This body has been refinished and is not perfect. As the body was pretty beaten when I got it. The neck was removed, but was spongy at the joint area and i trashed it. The fretboard is complete with bone nut and the frets are in good shape- not overused and no divots or fret problems. I do have the original tuners and trussrod cover and bottom endpin available, they are included with the Buy-It-Now option. Before I removed the neck, because of high action, It really sounded great and I hate to sell it. I would love to hear it with a nice new solid neck, as it is a singing box, but make it your own- you will not be dissappointed- again, the sound is awesome. Original Pickguard included, but not attached. I was on board the USS Collett(DD730) Homeported in Youkaska, Japan in 1968 and the lead guitarist for the band"1910 Fruitgum Company" ... morewas on the same ship. THE LABEL AND THE BRASSES MATCH MODEL NUMBER AS MODEL# 206 AND THE SERIAL# 318788 MATCHES A 1903 MANUFACTURE DATE. I CAN NOT FIND ANY INFORMATION ON THIS MODEL NUMBER. JUST HOW RARE IS THIS ONE? CONDITION: THE OAK CASE AND BRASSES ARE ALL IN GREAT CONDITION. I DID NOT POLISH THE BRASSES AND ONLY USED PLEDGE ON THE CASE TO DUST IT OFF. I DIDN'T EVEN VACUUM THE INSIDE OUT BEFORE THE PHOTOS. It has 56 keys(39 character& 17 function) It does turn on with either the AC adapter or with 6'C' batteries. But I have no way of testing it because I don't have any label cartridges. It seems to be in excellent working condition. It does show slight use(surface scratches, etc. but is not cracked or damaged in any way. The instruction sheet is torn& stuck together. It had water spilled on it at one time but it is still readable. The product sheet has a small hole in it. The foam padding on the inside of the carrying case is brittle and falling apart in some spots. It has the Slow/Fast Adjustment Feature at the top of the face. The face is Porcelain and in great condition with no damage. It has a heavy Convex Glass with a Brass Bezel. The Bezel won't latch tight. But stays closed. Oak Case is 17" tall, 12.5" wide, and 5.6" in depth and weighs 8 lbs.
