Nice for its age. This 5-3/16 in. high KINGSLEY, IA ADVERTISING CROCK(YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS JAR FOR BEATING OR MAY'S GROCERIES FOR EATING) My mother places it before the Great Depression, and blue print still vibrant/readable. There is a 1/8 in. long nick in the top lip of this crock, is glazed over so I believe is a manufacturer's flaw. Have tried to show with photos the bottom nicking/flaking; I think after all these years is simply showing its age. My mother's family are the original owners; my mother did find a similar Kingsley. IA grocery advertising beater jar a few years back in the ANTIQUE TRADER. No beaters with this crock. Unfortunately. My mother has used as a pen holder in the past; remnants of blue ink blots can be seen pretty well in the fifth photo. I have gently scrubbed/cleaned with Goo-Be-Gone but some remnants ... moreremain. I think with further scrubbing, might get more of these ink spottings off. Top opening is 3-3/4 in. across; underside base 4-5/16 in. in diameter. Underside has wear resulting in an-almost-sunburst pattern(does not flake off when I run my fingers over the underside) but again, blue print and overall condition pretty good shape for age. KINGSLEY Machine Co(Hollywood. California) set of 12 PT AMERICANA Lower case type letters. The set appears to be NOS intact and unused as it is still sealed in the plastic wrap. The label on the front of the case states"betty and terry stevens 12 PT AMERICANA(Lower Case) The wood case has the original hinges and clasp. The wood case has some cracks/splits in the wood grain on the top near the front but it is held intact with the border. You could glue it to close the cracks but it probably is not necessary except to improve the cosmetic appearance. Not sure of the model number(possible M-75 or M-50) as it is not seen marked on the machine. Machine not only looks good but functions smoothly and heats to desired temperature by the rheostat as it should. Temperature Gauge in front works fine. The power cord is in perfect condition. Being soft and pliable. The machine has not been molested in anyway and just flat out looks nice. Original tags came with the machine so they were hung in proper places.
