FARMALL 450 DIESEL international, mccormick, john deere, case, ford
Up for auction is a 1957 Farmall 450 Diesel(SN 20932) Starts. Runs and switches over good. Has TA, 1 finger power steering, fast hitch and one remote. All major mechanical stuff works good. I've put a lot of time into this tractor recently. Just replaced the diesel tank, gas tank, hydraulic pump, power steering pump etc. All of those parts were used but in good shape. Also changed all filters and fluids(about $200) Was told by previous owner that the injection pump was recently rebuilt. Can't prove it but the tractor sure does run like it was. I also just put brand new road guider 6.00-16s and tubes on the front. The rear tires are 15.5-38s. One is an alliance with about 70% and the other is a hood with about 25% This tractor does have a few things that could use some tlc. It has a hydraulic leak coming from somewhere around the reservoir ... moreor power steering block. Not sure didn't look into it. The battery box has been changed to be longer. Must have been done to fit a bigger battery. None of the lights or dash guages work. The left rear wheel has been welded as shown in the pictures. Looks to me like they did a pretty good job. The rear tire that's 25% holds air and works but is showing through in a few spots. All these issues except the tire are pretty minor and come with the territory of almost a 60 year old machine. Like I stated above all major mechanical stuff is good. Overall this is a pretty solid tractor. Only 6961 of the diesel 450s were made. Who knows how many are left complete and still running today. It would make a great candidate for restoration due to the rarity and condition. Would like to keep this tractor but I just bought a bigger one. JD 450 crawler with a four in one bucket and a backhoe. The backhoe also comes off and I have rear weights that go with it. The right clutch needs adjustment as it will not turn right. Tracks need to be tensioned. Grease fittings need replaced. Buckets need new teeth. Starts and runs great. right armrest need redone. But there is some pitting in the chrome so it shoul d be considered a c ore although it may be able to be used as is. Sorry. I only have pictures of the pitting on one cylinder, but the other is comparable. I have kept cylinders like this(pitted) in service by sanding just the pits flat with very find sandpaper to remove the raised part of the corrosion. They did not leak before they were removed several years ago. Local pickup only is available. Just outside Detroit Michigan. Although I have stated these are probably usable. Consider them cores because it is being sold as-is with no return. Again this auction is for one. The $100 shipping fee constitutes $65 for shipping and a $35 packaging fee. You are looking at a John Deere 450CC crawler dozer. The machine has a diesel engine that starts and runs good as well as the shuttle shift transmission. The tracks on this tractor are in good condition. The grouser pads have been re done as well. The brakes and steering work great. This tractor has been on a small farm for the last 20 years. The previous owner always soaked the tracks in motor oil for storage. The pins and bushings are tight also. I put 20 hours on this dozer the last few days and it works good. You are viewing a 1960's Ertl 1/16 scale John Deere 450 Crawler. It features engine detail. Rubber exhaust, rubber tracks, 5 position blade, dash decals with gauges, decaled grill, winch with hand crank, Jd decals, and a rear hitch. It is in excellent condition with the exception of a few minor rubs on the friction points. The decal on either side of the hood shows wear as seen in the pictures.
