They feature extraordinary carved decoration in relief. The cornice has an egg and dart motif at the edge and acanthus leaves scrolling on four sides. The upright portion beneath the cornice features a diaper motif, scrolling acanthus leaves and swans. The lower half features female masks, a ring of lozenges with water fowl above foliate decoration. Ornate IMPERIAL Italian Brass, Ormolu Cherubs, Marble Mantel Clock & Candelabras
Offered here is a wonderful 3 piece ornate garniture set consisting of a mantel clock and 2 matching candelabras by Imperial of Italy. This Louis XVI style lyre shaped clock is solid brass with green marble and bronze colored ormolu satyr cherub figurines. Brass garland, claw feet and scroll motifs with rooster heads. The corresponding candelabras have 6 lights around a taller center light with similar treatment. The key wind all brass 8 day movement is a German Franz Hermle 130-070 balance wheel system with 2 brass bell chimes. It is running well. Keeps good time and chimes properly. With a pleasant and bright bim-bam style. The bells chime on the hour with an hour count and once on the half hour. The 4" dial face is labeled Imperial and Made Italy. There is no damage to report and the condition is excellent. The brass is bright. The ... moremarble is clean and glossy, and the ormolu figurines have a nice vintage patina look. There are one or two candelabra lights that are not completely vertical in their orientation. But not severe. There are no chips. Cracks or repairs to the brass, marble or figurines and there are no broken or missing parts. The movement has a date code indicating this set was manufactured in 1995. All pieces have markings of a B or"Brevettato" a model number( and a foil paper label reading Made In Italy(see pics) The clock measures 24" tall to the finial x 14" wide x 7 1/2" deep. The candelabras also stand 24" tall to the top candle holder and the diameter of the 6 arms is about 11" This is a heavy set(about 40 lbs) and may need to ship in multiple cartons. Up for sale is an Italian Imperial clock that measures 24” tall. 14” x 9” and two matching candelabras that are 24” tall. 11” diameter at the top. There are decorative cherubs one each peace. These clocks typically have a brass rope and a medallion that is held by each cherub. It is missing form this clock. The clock has been converted to an electronic time piece and keeps great time. So this one has no chimes to wake you each hour of the night. There is also a crack shown in the photo on a small limb on one candelabra.Which could be braised easily for repair if it bothers you too terribly. In pristene condition. European, Possibly Italian Item# 120008IRU26 This is a work of exquisite craftsmanship. Covered in a thick mahogany and rosewood veneer. The colors exemplified in this chest are simply remarkable. Inlaid with fine marquetry work, the musical instruments central to the commode are flanked on either side by books hanging from knotted ribbon. Two large drawers make up the case, each fully dovetailed front and back, exposed on the sides. Crisp gilt bronze mounts grace the corners and feet, allowing the cabriole legs to terminate in lion paw feet. This Vintage Italian Brass and Marble Candelabra is made in Italy. The Dimensions are 18" High by 13" wide from candle holder to candle holder. It was purchased about 10 years ago at an antique store in Flagstaff. Arizona for $150.00. On the bottom is inscribed"Made in Italy, and next to that is MOD DEP, which i'm not sure the meaning of. The eagle has deep patterning and realistic details all in a beautiful gilded finish. The fabulous marble top is black with beautiful white veins. It is finished with a gorgeous curved frieze and egg and dart design. This table is probably Italian made. The previous owners lived in Italy for many years and their children indicated that they had it shipped from Italy when they moved. It is in extraordinary condition and looks practically new. The small chromed rods that support the globes appeared to have white plastic end caps that became brittle and broke off during time, they were smaller caps and can be replaced by ordering online, I have one to include for reference, the endcarps that are missing do not detract as the tube is smaller and it probably looks better without them. Yet few people understand how the process actually works. Although mechanization ... morehas facilitated the lost wax process of bronze casting. The procedure is basically the same as that used by the Chinese when they first developed the process in the 2nd millennium BC. The Rubber Mold First the artist creates an original sculpture out of any number of media. Including stone, wax, clay, wood and pottery. This image is coated with a silicone rubber molding material that makes two rubber mold halves(each rubber mold has a front and a back piece) A fiberglass outer shell is added to the back of each mold so it retains its shape and rigidity during subsequent uses. These molds are the only components that are ever re-used in the casting process. All other components are re-created for each casting. The Wax Positive Once the molds are done. The insides are coated with layers of wax. The halves are then bound together and wax poured inside to complete the wax image being created. Once the wax has cooled. Empire Burl Walnut Italian Bedroom Set 7 Pc Marble Top
This is one of two Italian sets we have from this period and this is the claw foot one and most desirable. The two single beds are already aligned to make a king or queen size bed by attaching the two singles at mid point as my Father did on these sets. Bed back is about 57 and 1/2 inches tall and foot 35 inches Tall width each 35 and 1/2 inches which makes them 71 + when put together. Highest point in set would be Armoir at about 7 feet 2 inches. The condition is very good for this time period and has the normal scuffs and wear of use and shines up like a jewel when polished regular. I would replace the older hardware with something more modern but traditional. Burl tends to cave in with age in the knot area which separates the wood. Most people do not touch this or fill it in but leave it with it's natural aging. These are the bomb, a pair of great antique polychrome on wood carved Italian stands with a pair of marble tops. they are ornate as can be, carved fruit motif in color with gilt detailing, you can see the grapes, apples and fruit all carved and painted with gilt detailing all around. There is wear to the paint on the bases and around the area, but it looks great as aged painted pieces would look, they are done on the back and the front, old and look old, they come with a pair of marble rectangle tops with ogee edging. the marble is all good no cracks or chips. the marble and bases are not conected so you will need to do that or mount to wall. Here we offer a great quality 19th century French or Italian marble bust of Julius Caesar. It shows him in Emperor maner. Bare shoulders and blank eyes. Hair is lovely, lips, eyes, all the facial features. What a beauty, and what a shame that it is damaged. We rescued him from an estate sale, to find him a new home.
