Along with other contraptions of yesteryear like the cotton gin or the Blackberry. Even Leco has little recollection of it. Yet here it sits, looking as though it just rolled off the assembly line last August, or perhaps July. Here are my observations: When the black lever is depressed. The aluminum bar slowly tilts, after which it returns to its original position. Sometimes it takes seconds, sometimes much longer. The indenter rod does not seem to be making contact with the aluminum bar. As such. There is no pressure being applied to the indenter. It may be installed incorrectly, but without a manual, I don't know how to check. The microscope ... moreworks. Although there isn't much that can go wrong there. The illuminator powers up. But the light doesn't make it through the optical train. After some investigation, it turns out that the half-mirror in the beam splitter is broken. To test the microscope, I used an external illuminator. There is only one objective. A Nikon MPlan 40x. Please email any questions. All equipment is entrusted to the smartest. Here is a Rams Rockford 30-S hardness tester. I don't know much about this. I have tested a piece of steel according to the instructions& the readings are consistant every time I check it. What is shown in the photos is all that is included in this auction. There are no anvils or extra penetrators. I have opened the side of this tester& everything looks good. No broken springs or other visible problems. Since I have no way of checking the calibration of this. It is being sold as-is.
