Offered today is one mid 1950's American Flyer S gauge#590 Control Tower this sought after plastic building was made for A.C. Gilbert by the Bachmann Co. Flyer gave them a great looking paint job and installed an interior light giving the tower a very realistic look. This example has done service on my lay out for well over a decade it is being offered today as I continue to down size. It appears as excellent with great untouched factory paint and remains all original. I have graded it as very good plus because some of the parts have been glued. Original and reasonably clean pair of American Flyer#720A remote control"S" gauge switches and their controller. The switches have both been tested with this controller and they operate and light up very nicely. All terminal nuts are intact as are 3 track connecting pins on each. Nothing cracked. Broken, missing or repaired, and they're pretty clean both top and bottom. The controller also works fine. But only one green light would light. All the bulbs operated fine when ... moretested outside the unit, so I'm guessing there's some dirt or mildew inside that's preventing three of the bulbs from lighting. Hopefully just needs to be cleaned but, again, this did cycle the switches fine. The black cover has no chips or cracks. The control handles have lost most of their plating, but there's not much evidence of surface rust. The 4-wire cables that go to the switches are approx 40" long, and the yellow and black power wires are approx 30" long. No box or instructions. But these would be a good set of switches for your layout.and even better if you can get the contoller bulbs to light! Lotsa pictures- please check them all out!
