This flux will refine silver concentrates and leave base metals in the slag. There is no lead or lead oxide(litharge) in this formula. Use two parts by weight of Silver Refining Flux for one part of concentrates being smelted. Mix the flux with the material to be refined. Do not place the flux on top of the materials in the crucible. Now includes a free guide to smelting with hints and tips. Where to get spot prices on precious metals, and a list of refiners that will give you top dollar. Some ores. Such as sulfides and tellurides, need to be roasted before smelting to provide the highest yield. Furnace at 1.900 degrees F. for 30 minutes after reaching temperature. After smelting. The melt should be poured into a cone mold, which concentrates the silver in the bottom of the mold. VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY TIP: Both borax and silicon dioxide form ... moreglass when melted. 2005 Turner Flux 17.5 Full Suspension
Up for grabs here is a used 2005 Turner Flux. This bike has been used as my primary trail machine for the last 7 years and has some bumps and bruises to show for it. It is however in great working condition. Both front and rear shock function flawlessly. Shifting is still responsive, and wheels are true. As you can see in the photos there is some surface rust on the front derailleur and there are plenty of scratches around the crank and bash ring. Also note in photo 8 that there is a ding in the top tube. Antique Geology Mining Mineral Metal Assay Set Kit. 10 Flux Bottles. Tools. More
This is a wonderful piece of Metallurgical history. It comes with a sturdy. Solid hardwood box with hooked latches and metal hinges. There is a wood insert with cut outs for Flux material bottles. There are 10 small round holes. We have the 9 of the bottles that go in the holes. Seven are labeled on the front and all are corked. Many are full or almost full. Silica has only residue and Potassium Bisulphate is a fifth full. The other 7 are Microcosmic Salt, Borax, Calcium Fluoride, Boracic Acid, Tin, Calcium Sulfate, Sodium Carbonate, and Copper Oxide. The bottles measure 2 3/4" tall. They all have wooden caps with labels. Two of the caps are off the corks. There is a small, corked, empty Formaldehyde bottle with the poison label. The label is not complete on formaldehyde. There is a miniature mortar(1 inch wide) and pestle(1 3/4" ... morelong) I believe it is made of heavy glass or mineral. It is grayish brown in color. Inside the box was a fragile envelope with handwriting that reads"Platinum Foil. I'm afraid to examine it to closely. But there is a small rectangular piece of foil in the fold. There is a tray that goes in the box. It contains 5 round glass bulbs. One has a cork. Also contains 8 beakers. Charcoal and brass tweezers. See pictures. There is also a pipet(broken on lead end) a glass rod, an eye bath, a mini metal rolling pin(2 1/2" long) and two mystery brass pieces, that may have went to a burner, see pictures. There are four holes in the wood bottom insert that I'm not sure of. They may have been for weights. Please examine all pictures before bidding. This is a really cool set. Anhydrous Borax (1 pound)/ refining gold/ silver/ scrap/ nuggets/ flux/ melting
Anhydrous Borax Anhydrous Borax is the oldest known gold melting flux. It was used by the Southwestern Indians. After discovering boron in the Mohave Desert and Death Valley. Anhydrous Borax is still widely used in the smelting and refining of precious metals as it is one of the simplest to use fluxes around. To use Anhydrous Borax. You need a melting vessel(melting dish, crucible, etc. You should place a bed of Anhydrous Borax. Then add your material you intend to melt. The cap it with anhydrous borax. Then you need a heat source. With Anhydrous Borax. A lot of small timers use a torch. But a kiln, or UFO micro furnace are preferable. Turn up the heat for about 45 minutes to an hour to make sure it is all melted. Temp needed is around 1500 degrees F. Or higher, to melt and fuse properly. You now need a pouring mold(I have them available) ... moreto pour your melt into. So the borax and your melted material will cool. This will form a cone shaped piece of glass. The precious metals settle to the bottom of the cone. Take this glass cone. And place it on something hard, and lightly whack it with a hammer. The glass will break away. To be thrown away. What you will have left is a small cone shaped dore bead. Which now needs to be beat into a cube. The main reason for cubing the dore is to make sure all the glass(or most of it) is gone. There will still be fragments stuck to it. Or dust, but this will not matter. Now the cube needs to be placed into a cupel and heated by the use of a kiln. Or the UFO micro furnace. So you have an even heating. The purpose of this is so that the cupel can soak up the impurities left. Besides that. For a good firing, I have found that you need 2000 degrees F. or better for the cupel to do it's job properly. What will be left is a gold or silver(or both) Bead in the bottom center of the cupel. Now if this sounds to complex. We offer the one step Amalgamite process right here on ebay. But you still need the same tools, except the pouring mold. Everything mentioned as needed here. Is

2010 Turner Flux Frame DW Link w/ King headset and new Rock Shox Monarch RT3
This 2010 Turner Flux. Size large, has a few cosmetic blemishes but has just received a complete makeover(in terms of function) brand new Push pivot bushings and Rock Shox Monarch RT3 with a Low/Low velocity tune and Enduro needle bearings. A Chris King headset(including the crown race, not pictured) is also included in the frame. I have a new set of black Turner decals I can also include if you fancy the black on black look. There is some wear around the chainstay yoke and also a spot on the seattube where the seatstay yoke contacted it. The latter happened on the workstand with the shock off. I.e. not by bottoming out the suspension- contact only occurs past the point the shock would have bottomed out. The original pivots were super tight, and by trying to cycle them on different occasions I ended up smacking the rear triangle into the ... morefront once things did start moving. The good news is that the new Push bushings are super smooth, so it was not an issue with the frame but rather the original bushings must have been slightly oversized. The rest of the frame is in good shape considering its age. With no major dents or scratches. Nonetheless I'm starting the auction at basically the price of the shock, bushings, and headset, so don't miss this chance to own an American made classic with one of the most advanced suspension designs out there at a great price. Lot of Solder Flux Rosin Acid Core 40/60 Oatey No 5 Flux
This is sort of a hodge-podge lot of misc. solders and paste. The lot includes(1) roll of rosin core solder for electrical use. It weighs out at 14.5 oz. 1) roll of 40/60 acid core solder. It is a 1/2lb roll but actually weighs 9.8oz so if any was used, it sure wasn't much. It is 40/tin 60/lead and has the number 356377 O/M 1-10(1) partially used roll that I am not sure what it is. It has a partial sticker reading Royal Mdse Co. College. 2) small containers of acid core. These are the tubes with the red/yellow lids. The combined weight of them is.8 oz. 2) short pieces of fairly thick solder. They have a 1.9oz combined weight. 1) can of Oatey No 5 Soldering Paste/Flux- I would say it looks about 90% full. Good way to fill your soldering box!
