This listing is for a nice GATES 833A Radio Transmitting Tube. It has a good filament and very little darkening of the glass from use. The GATES logo and"Made in USA" are still visible even though this tube probably spent a number of hours in a hot transmitter. 833A tubes were used in AM transmitters manufactured by RCA and Gates during the 1940s and 1950s. In addition to their unique appearance. They also light up nicely as an illuminated display. I illuminated the filament with an 8-volt transformer for the last photo to demonstrate the continuity of the filament. And to confirm that the vacuum in the tube is still viable. Is marked on the outside of the glass in two lines"Robertson" and what looks like"80-32 V4" plus there is what looks like the number"12" embossed into the top of the glass rod to which the filaments attach. The Socket is marked"KONDU" and the number"7990A" around the brass base and the porcelain inside the socket bottom also has the number"GS762" I have no way of testing the bulb; however. My ohm tester says it has continuity and of course I can see that the filament(which I don't know for sure is Carbon) is not broken, but as I can not truly test the bulb, I can't guarantee that it is in good working condition ... moreand I don't know if this socket is correct for this bulb as the bulb has one center contact but there are two spring contacts inside the socket? Antique 1885 Edison patent T-H Elec. Co. carbon filament glass tip light bulb
This is an antique 1879 and 1885 patent Edison scientific era bulb from a local estate. It is frosted blown glass. Measuring 6" long overall x 2 3/8" diameter. It has T-H manufacture's stampings on the brass base, along with original paper spec. label( see images) The bottom is molded"F-11-90" It features a completely intact carbonized"hair-pin" style filament(difficult to photograph because of frosted glass) The bulb's filament tests"GOOD" continuity using Ohm multimeter. See last image of meter for actual test reading. Brass base with old uncleaned patina. It displays BEAUTIFULLY. Nice early bulb. Being sold as shown strictly for collection/ display. Antique 1880's Edison light bulb Exhaust Tip Carbon Filament string wrapped VTG
This is a rare bulb. It has a crocheted cover over the tip that ties down to the base. I tested this bulb with a ohm meter and it tests good. On the base it looks like hand writing, 66 and opposite this what looks like a W or a 3. This bulb is in very good condition for it's age and from what I can tell should work under the right voltage. The filament is what looks like a long fine wire with a loop at the end/ top looks good and intact and tests good with an ohm meter. If you choose to use this bulb you are doing so at your own risk I can make no guarantees to it's safety or fitness. I do my very best to describe the item, please ask any questions. Rare ANTIQUE Vintage EDISON Frosted Tipped Light BULB Early Old Lamp Filament
For auction I have a circa late 1800's- early 1900's frosted tipped Edison light bulb. Bulb measures a little under 6" long and around 2 1/2" wide. I am not sure if it is working as I do not want to ruin it testing it. I am not really knowledgeable in this area of collecting but I will do my best to answer questions and give an accurate description.
