This is a really cool find. This was found high in the rafters of a barn near Sebastian Florida. It looks as though somebody made the case and It gave it a very neat primitive look. Overall in measures 5 inches tall 4 inches deep and a little over four and a half inches wide. I have not hooked any electrical currents to this. So I have no idea the working condition. Being offered is an Antique Condensing Electroscope by Wm. Gaertner& Co. Chicago. This electrical instrument is likely from the late 1800's or early 1900's. The frame is made from heavy cast iron. The fittings are made from brass. Note that the chamber is not made of sheet brass. But is machined from a thick brass casting so this is a professional instrument! The front and back covers of the chamber slide open to reveal the nearly perfect interior as shown. The suspended plate at the bottom of the chamber is made of brass highly polished and gilt. The front chamber cover has a frosted glass insert. The rear chamber cover has a clear glass insert for the microscope to see through. There is a brass mesh to shield the charge. The charge enters through the ball electrode on the top of the chamber. The binding post on the base provides ... moregrounding. There are adjustments to rotate and move the chamber up and down. The microscope can be raised, lowered, rotated, and moved side to side. The overall height of the instrument is about 13 inches and the outside diameter of the chamber is about 5-1/4 inches. An electroscope is an early electrical instrument used to observe an electric charge causing movement of a piece of metal foil or filament. You rarely see an electroscope of this complexity and quality on eBay. I will disassemble this device where practical to keep parts from being bent during shipping. This is a very unique piece of vintage electrical tester. It has not been tested. On this tester there is a spot for calibration. I really don't know much about this but the patent date is July 16th the 1901 its model number 56 and number 1463. It looks to be in really good condition as you see in the pictures. I have spent time trying to track down the date of this catalog. Krylon spray paint is sold in this catalog and that came out in 1949. People who set up housekeeping in the 50's and early 60's have many items from this catalog in their homes. I could not find a specific date anywhere inside the catalog. I am also not finding any catalogs like this for sale on line. This catalog is a wonderful walk down memory lane. Also this is a goldmind of information for names of products for items from the 50's. Great resource for resellers. Overall condition is the cover is used with a slight bit of dirt. The text is very good with no marks and a tight spine.

Vintage Deco 18" cage United Electrical Co oscillating fan
This vintage United Electrical Co oscillating fan has a cool deco look to the cage. The fan is fresh from an estate and shown just how I found it. It looks very clean for its age and displays well. The cage measures 18" across the blades are 16" The fan has a model on the bottom of the cage that is 455- I am not sure if it is 455-1 or 455-4. I cant make out the last digit.

Vintage MESCO Electric fan Manhattan Electrical Supply CO. Battery Type No. 3619
I have a nice working MESCO Manhattan Electrical Supply CO. 6 volt Battery type fan. I tested and seems to work OK. Adjustable speeds all seem to work. No. 3619 The blades are 8" The cage measures 9" in diameter. Stands about 11-1/2" tall overall. Some slight surface rust in areas. One of the wires on the cage has been repaired. It has been soldered and can be seen in pic. The blades all look to been in great shape. Somebody has cleaned on it a bit with a wire brush as some light scratching can be seen.
