This is a very interesting Western Electric test set. This is a model 911A data test set. This set contains a test sentence generator. Power supply and distortion measuring set. The test sentence generator has test data stored on a plug-in magnetic core memory module. This test set also has 2 additional magnetic core memory modules stored in a compartment in the case. The magnetic core memory modules can be swapped through an access door on the top of the test set. I have tested this by using a jumper from the test sentence generator"volt out" to the distortion measuring set"volt in" You can see the data stored on the magnetic core memory module displayed on the two pixie display tubes. I tried this with all three magnetic core memory modules and two of them displayed data. The third one either does not have data stored ... moreon it or is not working. Western Electric Test Equipment Optical Meter Calibration System ONLY
Western Electric optical projection meter that uses a flashlight bulb(and a spare GE 222X also) to reflect light off a mirror inside the potentiometer( rotary control module. And project it on the translucent, graduated screen on the front panel. Pushbutton switch at the bottom would be for taking readings and battery condition. It has an analog meter, above the rotary control with a center zero marking and a"BAT. area to the right on the face. Has a foot long coiled cord with a three pin plug that is marked"EBY 16160" I would imagine that would connect into a dry cell battery. The cord has a tag with"H328-705 L5" I am not sure of it's functioning. But it is a marvel of American engineering. The rotary control and mirror assembly has a marking of 726667-2(g or 8 or s) and the date April 20, 1981. The entire assembly ... moreis stamped with KS-168411.1 I did power up the light and it does work. Entire unit measures about 6 1/2" long by 7" high. It was part of a bigger instrument, as it has four(4) screws on it's thick Bakelite front panel to hold it in. The 6 position terminal strip on the back still has the nubbins of the fabric wires where they were cut off. Any questions. Please feel free to ask. I bought this just as it is, no history. MYSTERY METER - Antique Electric Test Meter for Automobiles - for Ford Cars?
This listing is for an antique electric meter that was apparently used for automotive testing sometime in the past. I bought this in a box of other meters at an auction and do not know how it was used. The meter is mounted in a box that is 5" wide. 4" tall, and 1.5" deep. The box has two wires coming out of the top, but neither is marked or color coded. There is no brand name or other identifying markings on this meter. It appears to have a d'Arsonval moving coil movement, and the needle zeros properly and moves freely, so I think it is probably in working condition. The markings on the scale are puzzling to me. Most of these are visible in the second photo. The main scale goes from zero to 220. There is a small scale above it that shows the numbers 7. 9, 11 13, 15, and 17. At the bottom of the scale are the notations BAD, ... moreEMPTY, and FULL. At the top of the scale, not visible in the photo, is the word FORD at 120 on the main scale, the word FORD again at 155, and the word Lincoln at 190 on the main scale. This suggests that the meter was used for working on Ford Motor Company Cars. I refer to this as my"mystery meter. but perhaps you know how it was used. If so, please share that information with me so that I can share it with other buyers. Even if you do not know what it is for, you might want to buy it as an interesting conversation piece or perhaps a paperweight! I only ship to addresses in the United States. Columbia Electric TONG- TEST Bakelite Amp Clamps This is a good working set of two meter modules and one clamp/handle assembly. The clamp portion is made of a cast metal frame and laminated steel jaws with a heavy black wrinkle finish paint. The handle is made of bakelite. The meters measure 50 Amps and 200 Amps respectively. They will measure AC as well as DC current. The meter cases are made of heavy black bakelite. The clamp has a serial number of: C-61485. The 50 Amp module: 31477C, and the 200 Amp module: C-G1485. This is a very interesting set of test meters in very good condition. They are usable as is and indestructable. From the Web: The Columbia tong test ammeter. Manufactured by Weschler Instruments.
