Dial light and digital display make this baby stand out in a dark setting. BFO, RF Gain, Wide/Narrow Band Switch, External Antenna hookup, slow and speed tuner dial. Only defect is a manufacturing defect in the tuner mechanism which results in a cracked tuning gear which makes"detents" in the tuning dial. My 7-2990A has hardly been used and developed this problem without use. RARE Audiscan Sound-Filmstip Cartridge Projector electric monitor turns on
When I plug in and turn on the Audiscan Sound-Filmstrip Cartridge Projector. It casts light within and toward the rear where the filmstrip cartridge would fit. However, the bulb/tube to the monitor appears to be out, and needs to be replaced. I tried to capture a picture of the light from the projector being cast on the wall behind it and through the side where the"fine tuner" dial is on the side. Also, the power indicator(the orange light on the front) does light up. When I first flip the switch for this projector, I hear humming from the fan and see the light out the back, but, like I said, there is no picture on the monitor in front. On the front, the control panel includes a power switch, restart button, remote control plug-in, volume dial, and power indicator bulb. The specifics from the label in the back: Volts A.C. 115, Cycles ... more60, Watts 200, Serial Number 7018, Manufacturer Audiscan, Inc. in Bellevue, Washington, U.S.A. In the back there is a spot for a remote control to be plugged in, but I do not have the wired remote, unfortunately. 1930s Monitor Top GE Insignia Glass Refrigerator Crisper Set General Electric
Shown above is a set of 3 glass crispers each with a GE insignia. That were removed from a early model 1930's GE monitor top refrigerator. I know that there were two different versions of these sets, the later sets had the"larger" GE insignia on them, while this earlier set has the smaller insignia with frosted sides on each crisper, a different pattern in the glass. This earlier set is hard to find& came with the early model monitor tops. All 3 pieces measure 2 3/4" tall, the largest crisper measures 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" The rectangular crisper measures 4" x 8 1/4" The smallest measures 4" x 4" All three are in good shape with no cracks or breaks. The lid for the rectangular crisper has one small chip out of it(see 4th picture) the lid for the large crisper also has chip out of it(see 5th picture) ... moreThe chips did not leave any sort of a sharp edge, in fact I did not even know they were there until I got to checking the crispers over thoroughly for pictures. General Electric GE Milk Glass Monitor Top Refrigerator Sugar Salt & Pepper
Here is a vintage sugar. Salt and pepper set. It is made of white milk glass. These look like the monitor top GE refrigerator. These come to you in preowned condition. They are in nice shape with some minor wear due to age and use. They have embossed door, handle and hinge details. The top of the sugar comes off so that you can access the sugar. There is a tiny chip on the rim of the base, that can only be seen when the lid is off. It is not very noticeable. Above the doors on the sugar bowl it is embossed with General Electric. The salt and peeper shakers have a round circle near the top of the door. It was either painted or had a decal. Most of the decal or paint is missing on both. I am thinking they probably had an S or P so you would know what was inside, but that is just a guess. The front leg on one of the shakers has a small chip ... moreon the bottom. It is not very big and the shaker will still stay upright. These would make an interesting conversation starter when used or displayed. They would look great in a vintage kitchen. The Monitor Top Fridge is the most easily identified vintage refrigerator because of its unique top. It was named“Monitor Top” after the resemblance of its top to the turret on the ironclad Civil War warship. The USS Monitor. GE manufactured the Monitor Top Fridge from 1927 to 1936. It was finally replaced when GE released the“Flat Top” model fridge in 1937. Priced at $300(in the 1920's/30's) These were considered the first affordable refrigerators for the typical American family. GE made it possible to make monthly payments of $10 a month, which was conveniently added on to the family’s utility bill. These were not the first household fridges, but they were the first to be sold in such great numbers. Small changes were made through the years of its production. Offered here is a complete set of 4 GE General Electric refrigerator heavy glass dishes. The dishes come complete with matching lids which have the GE logo embossed in them. These dishes were made available to the purchasers of the early"monitor top" refrigerators that were sold from 1927-1936. The large dish measures about 8 and 1/2 by 8 and 1/2 by 3 inches. The medium size dish measures about 8 and 1/2 by 4 and 1/4 by 3 inches while the small dishes measure about 4 and 1/4 by 4 and 1/4 by 3 inches. All 8 pieces are in very good condition with some roughness present on some of the edges as well as a flea bite here and there and there is a 1/4 inch chip on the upper outside edge of the medium size dish. These are small imperfections that are to be expected on dishes of this age that were in everyday use at the time. This is a vintage General Electric refrigerator with a foot pedal to open the door. It has the monitor top cooling unit. The refrigerator is very clean inside. The coasters that go on the bottom of the feet have been removed. But are included with the refrigerator(in the photos, they are inside the refrigerator) There is one spot of rust/break in the enamel on the top of the unit, which is shown in one of the photos.
