These diodes have been pulled from a machine. But each has been tested and found to perform at or greater than shown in the power graphs. After many tests, these diodes have proven themselves to be reliable at high current high power operation. There is very little output loss with time as the diode/module is continuously. This diode is a non-standard size of 3.8mm. IT WILL NOT FIT INTO A STANDARD AIXIZ MODULE, a 3.8mm special Aixiz module must be used. A heatsink is an absolute necessity with this diode since it can handle so much power. If I do not already have heatsinks and 3.8mm Aixiz modules in my shop, I guarantee they will be there soon. This diode is far cheaper than other 405nm diodes of comparable strength. And offers a new"middle ground" for novice and advanced beginner laser builders. This diode can be run up to an absolute ... moremaximum current of 440 milliamps with the risk of diode life being shortened. As an example of the ability of this diode. Lightwave Electronics Laser Diode with Driver and Power
Up for sale is a used Lightwave Electronics Laser(I'm assuming because I didn't open it up to look and it's still sealed) With driver and power supply. The tricky thing about this is that the key was broken off inside of the key slot and it's set to off. It was like this when I got it. Except set to Standby and headed in the off direction(it was like midway between) so when I got the tweezers to try and pinch it out it slid its way to off. Now. Before that, I had to rerun the wiring to the power supply because in the key breaking incident there also occurred a wire cutting one. I don't know how the freight shippers that delivered the original Quanta Ray unit to me(that this was pulled from) managed to do it, but I guess something came down right at that spot and snagged both. Anyways. So I resoldered, reconnected, secured ... moreand even put flex cable over the wire to get the unit back in the game. I plugged it in and got the Standby light, then it went to Off. I of course wasn't paying attention to the connections as I unplugged them. And so the buyer will need to figure out or do some trial and error to get them reconnected. They are all two pin female to male connections and I don't understand the circuit board enough to gamble on reconnecting it. So. With all of that being said, if there are issues with the unit you are welcome to return it for a refund. High power 2W to 2.5W 445nm laser diode pull from Casio XJ Series projector. This projector was a store return with unknown hours as the fans would not operate so it would not light up. The laser diodes are fine and are testing strong. The laser in picture is doing 1.25 watts. this laser is not for sale and is to illustrate what you can build with a little imagination and spare parts) There is a little smoke in pic to show off beam as it was shot in daytime. Each of these diodes has been tested for a few seconds in my rather crude but effective diode test jig(seen in pic) made from a modified diode array assembly from a projector. My jig clamps both sides of the diode flange for maximum heat dissipation and I am using a Lasorb anti ESD/surge device to assure your diode has been tested safely. I take them up to about 1.5 watt in testing. I ... moremake sure they all perform well at a set current. These were removed by me carefully with anti-static mat. Wrist strap and esd safe desoldering iron. These are ready to be installed. The terminals have been cleaned of excess solder so you can plug it right into a socket, or solder the leads with the bit of tinning solder that remains. I do NOT recommend installing this is one of those"press in" style mounts. even if it is copper. Get one that has a screw down mount that provides heat transfer to both sides of the diode flange. These run real hot. Those press in mounts work. But you may lose half the life of your diode from inadequate heat sinking. This is why some sellers of these say it has a"duty cycle" of a few seconds as they don't want to be responsible for your diodes death. I have had many people ask me about this style mount.
