LEAK STEREO 20 Valve/Tube Amplfier Amp& Point One Pre/Controller SERVICED Here we have a simply beautiful example of the classic Leak Stereo 20 valve amplifier with matching Point one preamp and cables. It is a truly exceptional example. And comes complete with both attached factory tags, dated 1963. Cosmetically. I doubt there are many of this standard, it is fair to say, they are practically unmarked… the pre has lost two of it’s controls knobs(the two lower ones) as they were very brittle and tended to crumble over the years, theses have been replaced with working alternatives. Our Techy Mike Pointer has replaced many components in the power amp. And it is now in superb working order and measuring very well on the scope, the components that have been removed are pictured further down the listing. The main caps have been left. As even ... morethough the de-coupleing cap is showing slight signs of puffing, one small 3m bulge, that hasn’t broken through on the underside of the cap, it is measuring fine, and he says it will be ok for a while yet. he wanted to leave it as original as possible, but to get it to a good working order and sounding superb… which I can confirm! The pre has been switch cleaned and is working well. But I must stress, that we have not changed anything in the pre, it is totally standard, an overhaul of this would benefit the overall sound quality.
