Bait& Beer! Horlacher's Brewery in Allentown. Pa. combined two favorite American pastimes in this original 1946 advertising lithograph. The large, colorful poster touts Horlacher's Perfection Beer while providing a map and fishing guide for sport enthusiasts. Measuring 35x32. The poster was displayed in bait and tackle shops. It provides a full map of the U.S. identifying fish species, their range and localities, as well as documentation of record catches. Most importantly, it advertised Horlacher's"Nine Month Old Beer" which was"aged to perfection" in the"cold, clean and dark cellars" of the Horlacher Brewery in Allentown. Prior to Prohibition. Horlacher proudly marketed a"nine month old beer" that was aged for nine months, much longer than the 3-5 weeks standard for its competitors. ... moreWith the end of Prohibition, Horlacher Brewmaster Charles Lieberman re-created the"nine month old beer" and named it Perfection Beer. Rings have rust and a few newer nails holding the rings and some are slightly loose but are still solid, overall pretty nice item for being over 100 years old. This is being offered for a friend of mine who has had it stored inside in his collection for the past 40+ years. Here is a bit of information I received from the owner of the keg. Leonard Schlather came to Cleveland from Germany in 1853 at age 19. THIS WAS CLEVELAND OHIO's 2nd LARGEST PRE PROHIBITION BREWERY ESTABLISHED IN 1857. A NEW BREWERY WAS BUILT IN 1879 AND WAS INCORPORATED IN 1884 AS L. SCHLATHER BREWERY CO. THEN IN 1902 THE PLANT WAS SOLD TO THE CLEVELAND- SANDUSKY BREWING CO. Mr. Schlather passed away in 1918. He owned 60+ saloons in the Cleveland area. Brewery was torn down in 1933. PLEASE VIEW ALL PHOTOS BEFORE BIDDING. SELLING AS IS. WITH NO RETURNS. This is a Big and Bold Embossed Quart Beer bottle from an Older Memphis Tennessee Brewery. This Light Aqua Colored bottle has a Round Slugplate with Bold embossing that reads. THIS BOTTLE IS THE PROPERTY OF THE TENNESSEE BREWING CO. The base of the bottle is embossed with the glassmakers initials, S.B. G.CO. The bottle measures 11& 1/4 inches tall. It is in Fine condition, No Chips, Cracks, Bruises, etc. It has a little stain in the neck area, a few little spots of inner haze to be precise, and some ligt scratch or wear marks on the exterior. The base has some odd wear around the edge, probably from a wooden case or holder. The Top has a Rounded, Baltimore Loop style Blob, Smooth and Clean. A Sharp looking and Impressive Quart Size beer. This is a n ear ly 1 90 0's beer label from a very tough brewery. The Nassau Brewing Co. of Brooklyn. NY operated briefly from 1989 to 1916. There are very few items available from this brewery& there were no known labels until these were found. This label comes from a very early international label collection. Many of the labels in the collection are one of a kin d. There were(4) different brands from this brewery that were found in the collection. There were duplicates of some of the labels. But only(5) full sets of all(4) labels. 4) of the full sets now have new homes. So only one full set and some orphan singles remain. This label is unused and in near mint condition with with only very minor flaws. The quality of the lithography looks much finer in person than shown in the scan. Here is a wonderful circa 1910 pre-prohibition tin lithograph beer tray for Mother's Malt- Seattle's Best Tonic by Claussen Brewing Association Seattle. Wa. The tray measures 12" in diameter and is in excellent condition for its age. It has nice bright lithograph with no rust. There is wear to the gold around the edges. There is also a small pin-point dent to the very edge. You can better see it in the picture of the back of the tray. A very early beer tray. Pictures should tell the story.
