James Avery 14k Gold Hummingbird Brooch, Early Design Prototype from 1970's
Exquisitely detailed 14k solid gold hummingbird brooch with a ruby eye by James Avery. Stamped 14k on the interior of piece. It measures 1" from tip of beak to tail and weighs approximately 3.7 grams. This was purchased by a family member in San Antonio. Texas who loved the JA workshop in Kerrville back when he started out. This design is from an early prototype design in the early 1970's and is stamped 14k. The same brooch with the JA logo stamp is viewable(but cast in sterling silver) on Google Images if you are unfamiliar with the provenance.
